This is an auction for an original owner 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse in need of some maintenance. Currently the vehicle is in running condition, but will need some work done before it can be driven any significant distance. The car has functioned as a commuter between home and work for a majority of it's life. It's always had regular oil changes and maintenance, and has a polished Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system. The interior has leather seats and a 7-speaker Infinity sound system with a 6-disc changer. The engine is a 210 horsepower 3.0 V6 with a 4-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission. The vehicle was recently diagnosed as needing a new alternator & battery after it experienced a low voltage situation causing the tachometer to function erratically and the vehicle to idle high & shift hard triggering the "check engine light" to activate. I can't elaborate much beyond that as the vehicle hasn't been driven since then but has been started up regularly since the occurrence 4 weeks ago. In the past 18 months it has had the following repairs completed:Replaced valve cover gasketsNew beltsNew main drive pulleyNew mass air sensorReplaced an O2 sensorReplaced an engine mountNew spark plugsTo my knowledge, for the vehicle to be in condition for daily use it needs these items repaired:AlternatorNew batteryPower steering pump (works currently but groans loudly and freezes up momentarily)Exhaust heat shield needs to be welded in place (it rattles loudly at start-up and under acceleration)Seal around AC drain needs to be replaced (can leak water into floor under heavy AC use)Replace broken drivers side foglight (purchased, included in sale)Oil changeThis model of vehicle is known to have a few quirks & factory flaws, this one suffers from a fractured dashboard (pictured) and noisy door locks (common flaws in this model series). The emergency brake alert light & battery light stay on and are a result of the bad alternator. Pick up only. The vehicle will start, but I would recommend the buyer have it towed until it is repaired. This car is being sold "as is" with no warranty of any kind. The buyer will assume all repair costs after purchase.
