Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 98 Chevy C2500 Extended Cab that does not run and will need to be towed to its new home. I'm selling it to be parted out or to be restored to running shape. I bought it on ebay about a month ago and did not realize all the work it needed. (My fault on that one; never buy any vehicle without first looking at it in person) It was originally a Cheyenne trim but someone converted the interior to a Silverado trim and poorly wired the power accessories inside the door panels. I started to work on it but soon realized I had neither the time nor budget to finish it, so there are some parts that are missing due to the fact they were bad and I was planning to replace them. Most of the parts and hardware I removed were bad or very deteriorated (i.e. bolts and screws) to the point they could not be used again. The exterior has some dents below the taillights and on the rear sides of the bed and some scratches on the side but otherwise is in fair condition. The bed inside has been well used by the previous owners. The front door windows are inside the bottom of the door panels. I never got around to getting them fixed. I'll remove the glass and wrap them good before the vehicle is towed. The interior is in fair condition but somewhat disassembled (lower dash, instrument cluster and steering column trim panels removed and door panels and window regulators removed; window glass is still inside at the bottom of the inner door panels) The interior needs a radio, a new lock cylinder and keys, new ignition switch and turn signal lever (these two parts I have already and will include it with the truck), possibly a new gauge cluster, new front door panels (It had Silverado door trim panels when I got it but they were in pretty bad shape and the switches for the power accessories did not work or was not wired up properly, new power (or manual if going back to the base Cheyenne trim)window regulators, and new power switches. Under the hood it needs alot: a new motor (5.7 Vortec V8 R VIN code; you can get a reman long block for about $2100; I kept the airbox, hose and throttle body cover in the truck or there are turn key motors also that come with new accessories), cruise control module (the old one had a hole in it), power steering pump and steering gear, alternator and bracket, water pump and pulley, fan and fan clutch, belt tensioner and belt, Distributor, spark plugs and wires, radiator and all hoses plus coolant recovery bottle, needs all sensors replaced, thermostat and housing, and the master cylinder reservoir is leaking by the grommet between the reservoir and the proportioning valve plus the pedal went to the floor when driving a short distance so the brake system needs a thorough inspection. The transmission is in good working order and the fluid is still red. And the owner before put a new AC compressor and drier/accumulator on and the AC did blow cold before the truck stopped working. I just want the thing sold so I'm starting the bids at $0.01 with NO RESERVE. The truck is being sold AS-IS with no warranties implied or otherwise. Winning bidder must have the vehicle towed, pulled, etc. to its new home because it does not run or start! Vehicle shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Any questions feel free the ask me, I will be happy to answer them.
