Vehicle Detail

Offering for sale a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT that was driven every day until yesterday. This was the “farm vehicle” and as such was our work vehicle for hauling everything from feed and hay to firewood. This was after being the family ride and then teaching the kids to drive. It has had two fender benders, one front and one rear, and a parking lot swipe by some nice person that took out the driver’s headlight but it has been replaced and the damage to the metal covered with rubber tape. Need a prop for the hood to hold it up. We live in snow country so it is rusty underneath. The engine starts every time and runs very well, uses maybe a quart in between oil changes. Transmission fluid is dark but everything shifts ok so I have left it alone. It has an antifreeze leak somewhere – haven’t found it yet I just add fluid. The shift indicator is off a little so have to put it just past the gear to be in. The 4WD high and low both work and have used them both recently in the snow. The power stuff works except for driver’s door. The driver’s door lock is stuck in “unlock” so we don’t even try to lock it- don’t want it stuck locked! Rear door on passenger side only opens from outside. Power driver seat works – passenger side is manual. Windshield washer fluid works when it wants to – same with the radio and CD. Wipers work fine. All lights/signals work except for the fog lights. Cruise control buttons look rough but the cruise control works. Back liftgate opens but the window part is stuck not quite open or closed with a gap around it. So now the reason it was parked yesterday: brake line broke and it needs the metal brake lines replaced most likely from the master cylinder to the rear and across the back to the other rear. Don’t know about the front. I have sort of plugged off the back brakes and the front ones work a little – enough to not squirt fluid and it will stop it in the yard – not enough to be safe on the road! So this vehicle will need to be towed to its new home. The tires are nice and I show pictures of all four. Sorry it has been raining and will be for the next three days but I wanted to get the pictures taken and get this thing sold. I think I have listed everything but remember it is old and I am not a mechanic so not responsible for any other things that pop up. As-is, No Warranty. Thanks for bidding!
