Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE NO RESERVE – 150 Photos Thanks for checking out my 1978 Ford F250 SuperCab 4x4. I want to first start out by saying, this truck drives absolutely amazing, one finger driving down the freeway all day long, tracks beautifully (I’ve followed it down freeway), just a joy to drive, this is the type of truck, you can fly in and drive it home with ease. Told my wife the other day, that it drove better than our Super Duty Power Stroke, she’s like seriously, going to have her take it out for spin, she will be amazed. I absolutely love these trucks, very hard to find in this condition, basically a Survivor, never restored, but up kept through the years with minor upgrades. 1978-79 SuperCabs are highly desirable among collectors, but this truck has it all, Deluxe Ranger XLT, Wood Grain Dash, TuTone Paint/Deluxe racetrack trim, Camper Special, 4x4, Factory AC Truck, 400 V8 and AT. It has a small lift on it, maybe 3-4”, mated up with a set of very nice 90’s Ford Super Duty wheels, with BFG Baja Champion Mud-terrain T/A 315/75/16 in great shape. These are great trucks, you don't see these often, pretty rare actually these days. I am a Ford guy in general, and honestly would love to actually keep this one as my shop truck to pull my car trailer, it drives so awesome, but don’t really need to add anything, trying to thin the heard. I have always had a thing for these trucks, this is what I grew up with, actually my dad still has 79 Supercab, which I will get some day and restore. Please check out the photos, This is a solid rust free truck, mechanically it is very sound. Give me a call if you want to discuss it more. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 Condition: This is not a restored truck, just a vintage truck that someone has cared about over the years. I would say about 75% of the paint is original to the truck, which is great. The top of the bed on the light blue on drivers side was repainted at some point, on the passenger door, and you can see a blend mark on the supercab in dark blue. Lots of areas were paint has worn through on the edges in dark blue and various other areas from age. It has various holes dripped on the top of bed caps, from tie downs etc. On the rear corner you can see 2 Bronco hinges, someone had a spare on it with a swing away. The truck is set up for a Camper currently, everything is still there, so if you have a camper it is ready to go for the most part. The truck in general has some minor dings check out the 100+ photos, the worst one is on the bottom of the passenger door, it got rubbed, and someone massaged it back out, will need minor body work there, but over in very good condition. The body is in amazing condition, there is some surface rust, but overall, no rust bubbles, no rust issues in general, the body is sound, floor and frame are in amazing condition. Paint has a shine to it, older paint obviously, lots of chips and small scratches some that have been touched up some not. No signs of any filler on the truck, it is old paint, and I don’t see any repairs like that. The tailgate, has some waves in it. Around the roof gutter is amazing, needs new sealant, but no rust bubbles, great condition. This is probably one of the most solid F250 4x4 Supercabs I have every owned It does have a nice shine to it, but it is obviously old paint, but at the end of the day, you may want to paint it again down the road, to take it to the next level, but for now it looks good, and you can drive it and enjoy, maybe even bring it to a few weekend cruise nights and enjoy yourself, I get thumbs up every where I go in it. When you look down the sides of the truck, nice and straight, panels line up nicely. The general chrome and stainless on the truck, is in decent shape. This is nicer then most F250’s I see that are just driver/projects that you have seen on Ebay or elsewhere. The bottom corners of the cab are in really nice shape, no repairs, no rust. If you look inside the door jams, they are in really amazing condition, no rust issues, very solid all the way around. Under the doors are in great shape, drivers side, has some minor surface rust in the seam, but in great condition, just needs to be cleaned out and resealed. The front and rear bumpers are in really nice condition. Overall the body is in very solid, and in great shape, besides some of the paint flaws. Bed is in good shape, there is a small 2” cut toward the back on the floor, not sure how it got there, but easily repaired. The bed has scratches and stuff, but overall in good condition. Odometer reads 69K, but assume it has turned over, they only had 5 digit odometers at that time. Would have to have you come and look at it before you bid if you get the chance or send a friend in the area. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 Mechanically it is in great shape. The engine I believe is the original 400, with AT transmission. Engine has 4v Edelbrock Performer 400Aluminum intake, 4v Holley Street Avenger 4V Carb, Ford Motorsport Polished valve covers, Aluminum Polished pulleys, Dual Optima Red Top batteries, Compressor for rear airbags, Rancho shocks all the way around. The truck was originally an AC truck, most everything is there, I have the pump and bracket that go with it, you will need condenser, and various small parts under hood, but unit, and dash unit are all in the truck still. The engine is in very good shape, it starts right up, sounds great, no noise, smooth running, one click of the gas pedal and it fires right up. The engine is a strong runner for sure, and you can pull almost anything with in reason. There is normal engine oil residue, but no major oil leaks currently that I have noticed, nothing hits the ground. It does not smoke or burn oil, exhaust is clean. The transmission shifts excellent, ujoints and rearend feel great. Powersteering is in great shape, steers so nice. No transmission noise, sounds nice and tight. The exhaust is in good shape no holes, sounds great. The brakes work very good, Crossed Drilled front disc brakes with new calipers installed about 5K ago, and do not pull, truck stops nice and straight, it stops amazingly nice and straight, at the same time wheel bearings, and front ujoints replaced. The tires are very nice they are BFG 315/75/16, I would say they are about 90%, they are not noisy down the freeway, actually really quite for their size. The wheels are nice, from newer Super Duty 16”, they look good on it, a few nicks and wear on them, not perfect but look great on it. Overall mechanically the truck seems to be in good shape, obviously will need a little tinkering here and there it’s an old truck, but mechanically it is good. You and drive it home if you like, I would drive it anywhere. Interior is in great shape. The seat is in beautiful shape, no rips or tears, just redone actually, with brand new carpet from LMC. Overall the interior is very clean, this is something that I for sure would take my wife out on a date in, it is not dirty inside, very clean, for a truck that has been driven and enjoyed, original door panels are in nice shape, for original, but they do have some cracking in the corners, the passenger side needs some repairs to it, have to be careful pulling on the pull cup. Steering wheel, has few cracks at the base, but overall in good condition. The dash pad has a lot of small cracks in it, pretty typical, Non-Smoker truck, Not Musty. Headliner is original, and in good shape for its age, not perfect, but I would never replace it. Very nice looking inside not perfect but very nice for a driver and very comfortable to ride in. Gauges are working inside, radio works good, dash lights are not currently working. All the exterior lights on the truck even the original cab lights, courtesy and dome light work as well, but the dash lights are not currently working. Wipers, horn all worker, the heater works, but the fan is a little noisy but it does work. The door glass rolls down nicely. Drivers side wing window has a little helper on it to keep it closed. Windshield is in good shape, but does have a small chip on the passenger side. Overall a great looking interior. All in all the truck is a great old truck. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. Please, come out and personally take a look at it in person, or send a friend or inspector, or transporter, always better if possible to see it with your own eyes, I am close to major airport, and easy to get to. These are classic vehicles, with lots of history, almost years old, so they are used, not perfect, they don’t have warranties, or guarantees, they are as is, where is, nothing else is promised, I can’t possibly explain every little thing about a vehicle in writing, believe me I've tried, lol, seeing in person is always best, I try to give an good description, and normally over 150 photos at least, so you can get a good gauge of what it is, and isn’t.
