Vehicle Detail

1961 CADILLAC SERIES 62NO RESERVE Thanks for checking out my Big Fin- 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. This is truly the last year of the great Big Fin Cadillacs, I just love looking at these cars, there is nothing like them, just a piece of automotive history and art. This Cadillac has been in Oregon I believe all of its life, which explains its great condition, we here in the vally do not salt our roads, we have very mild winters, and cool summers, some of the best vintage cars come out of this area. I believe it was bought new in Eugene, Oregon just about 60 miles south of me, if you will notice it still has it rare Pacific Wonderland Blue plates on it from that time period. It was bought I believe by the second owner around 1983. It was this gentlemans pride and joy. He had two classic cars, a 1965 Mustang, and this 1961 Cadillac, worlds apart, but hands down this was his favorite cruiser his go to car on nice cruising days with the family. Around 2001 he decided to park it, being a retired gentleman he was getting up in his age, and barely was able to drive it like it should be used. He gave it to his son about a year ago, he did some work to it to get it back out on the road again, but honestly it was not his type of car and did not have the garage for it and not the car you use today as a daily driver, so he decided to let it go, but had a lot of great memories in it. He told me he took a few joy rides in it, back in the day, would sneak it out of the garage without his dad knowing about it, I'm sure that was a hoot back in the 80's, he must have watched Ferris Buellers day off a few times. Being in this business, I get to own some great cars from my bucket list. I have always wanted to own a 1959-191 Convertible, and it has been a lot of fun to have it for a bit on to my next find. I hope that I can find a very nice home for it here on ebay. It is a great car, no rust, very clean nice driver, that looks very great and you won't be afraid to drive and enjoy it. You will take it to any car show or cruise in and have the time of your life. Give me a call if you would like more information, keep scrolling down, there are over 100 photos of this beautiful car. This is NO RESERVE, starting at $19.61 let it roll. Thanks Jason 503-910-2085Mechanically this car is in great shape. Original 390 V8 engine in great shape, starts right up, very clean running idles perfect, and just sounds great. Engine has had a minor detail recently, has new valve cover, intake, valley timing cover, and oil pan gaskets, very clean engine compartment for its age. No engine noise, no ticks, sound great, does not blow smoke or burn oil, oil and fluids changed recently as well. All factory under the hood the way a vintage Caddy should look all stock. The power steering pump and generator were recently rebuilt and in good operating order. The transmission shifts very nice, no hesitation, very smooth. Transmission has some very minor seepage, after you drive it, you might get a few drips on the ground, very minor, might need a new pan gasket at the least, I wouldn't worry about it at this point, when you have tim The front brakes were recently rebuilt and some front end bushings were replaced, it steers very good, brakes nice, very nice driving car. The exhaust is in great shape, dual exhaust, no holes, car just sounds great. The body is very nice, very sound. There are no rust bubbles, or blisters, the bottoms of the rockers, and quarters are excellent shape. Older repaint around 1990, it shows its age but overall shows nice. It does have some age to it, shows well, but when you get it under lights, you will see some light water spots, and small etching might be tree sap that sunk into the finish not sure, in the paint tried to capture in some photos in shop, outside all polished it looks great. It might help to have it lightly wet sand and have a professional paint detail guy might be able to make it look even nicer. You will notice small chips and scratches, on the car, again pretty minor. There is one long scratch at the bottom of the passenger side of the car, if it were me, I would just have that area spot painted, would be cheap to do, I should have done it now that I think about it, lol. Anyways, great body, especially for a vintage convertible, no rust, beautiful floors. Take a look under the car, original floors, frame is in excellent condition, no rust issues what so ever. The chrome is all there, but honestly it needs to be freshened back up down the road. The glass is all in good shape, no chips. The top is in decent shape, but the rear plastic window has some age to it, and needs to be replaced, it has 1 crack in about 3-4" long, need to put some clear tape on crack so it does not spread. The rear window does zip out, so might be able to be replaced pretty easy. The top is nice no splits, seams are all good. The top obviously white has some discoloration to it, not sure if it could be cleaned, or bleached, but overall it looks nice, and your going to have it down most of the time anyways. Take a look at the photos and you will get a very good idea of what it looks like, this is a very nice car with older paint, at this point, I would not paint it, just touch up areas it has and have it blended, have the bumpers rechromed, and update some things as time and money allow. The interior is in great shape. The seats were redone around 1999, in correct leather, they look in great shape front and back. Door panels all done as well, very nice condition. The carpet was replaced you can see a few imperfections on passenger side, but floor mats would cover them. The dash pad is decent, across the dash and instrument area, all original and looks good. The chrome on doors and seats are in really nice shape, the little embossing looks great. The chrome on dash has aged. The clock does not work. I am not sure about the Radio it is all intact, but there is no speaker, the antenna does not work though. The gauges work, speedo works, but right before he stopped driving the car in the early 2000's the odometer stopped work. It currently reads 82024, it is believed that the miles are correct, especially because he owned it for such a long time, but because it is not currently not working, it is unknown. Electric windows work very good up and down, horn works. The front seat is power, and it does work, but the back position is sticky and you have to help it along, I think the switch might be getting worn, once you get it in the spot you like it, leave it until you can look at it closer. The wipers work, the heater works as well. The instrument lights all work, map light works, but not courtesy light. The heater blower and heat work as well. Take some time and really view the photos, there are a ton of them, and you will get a very good idea of what the car is. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 13 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, odd ball and unique vehicles. Please, come out and personally take a look at it in person, or send a friend or inspector, or transporter, always better if possible to see it with your own eyes, I am close to major airport, and easy to get to. These are classic vehicles, with lots of history, almost years old, so they are used, not perfect, they don’t have warranties, or guarantees, they are as is, where is, nothing else is promised, I can’t possibly explain every little thing about a vehicle in writing, believe me I've tried, lol, seeing in person is always best, I try to give an good description, and normally over 75 photos at least, so you can get a good gauge of what it is, and isn’t.
