The CJ 7 is the quintessential Jeep, combining the classic upright grille, topless fun, and a rugged but friendly demeanor. The Renegade was the top-of-the-line and it looks the part, especially dressed in bright red with black accents that fade to gray. It's pretty clear from the condition of the body that this Jeep hasn't spent its life on the trails. Rubber fender flares add clearance for the oversized tires and give it a butch look, and at the same time, the mirror shine of the 17-inch Mayhem wheels add a touch of class. This brightness is continued on the tubular chrome bumpers, grille, step plates, and even the side mirrors. Because owning a Jeep is an outdoor experience, this one pays special attention to matching the interior with the exterior. It starts with the bikini top and vinyl seats that coordinate with the gray "Renegade" hood decal. The front buckets are comfortable on the trail, and when it's time to go out on the town, they clean up in a snap. Plus, the black floor has been given a rugged liner paint so that you can still clean out this Jeep with a garden hose. The mirrored gage and glovebox plates show the interior's flair for chrome, and the heat/defrost controls and AM/FM/CD stereo add some very nice comfort. The original motor in this CJ 7 left a lot of room for improvement, so it was swapped for 350 cubic inches of Chevy V8 power. This bulletproof motor is nearly infinitely upgradeable, which is why it already benefits from Edelbrock performance components such as the intake, valve covers, and four-barrel carburetor. It cackles to life through a throaty dual exhaust system with tips that exit like a muscle car out the rear. The Jeep is the off road king, and so the three-speed automatic is linked to a two-speed transfer case for true 4x4 ability. The lift kit gives the suspension plenty travel when it really counts, and the General Grabber tires are engineered to find traction on any surface.
