Vehicle Detail

Relisted thanks to a timewaster with zero feedback who made excessive bids, didn't realize where Pennsylvania is in relation to California, and hadn't bothered to think about how to get the car back. Please don't waste everyone's time by entering bids for fun. Read eBay's terms & conditions. If you have zero feedback and are genuinely interested then contact me before bidding. This car was manufactured on Feb 14, 1986. It has PA inspection & emissions stickers good to August 2016. Nice car, no time to drive or work on it. Bodywork:No rust, clean underneath, the car spent a lot of time in Florida hence the clearcoat fade on the roof! It's a 30 year old car with a high mileage so there are the usual stone chips and scuffs. There are 2 areas of minor body damage, one on the rear passenger door on the driver's side below the trim which I think can be massaged out (although it has chipped the paint) and the second on the offside front fender as shown in the pictures. I have a spare, rust free front fender (different color unfortunately) which will go with the car as will a brand new OEM rubber trunk gasket (still in it's packaging). Interior:Light tan/cream leather, very nice condition with no rips. All electrics (windows, mirrors, seats, sunroof tilt/slide, dash computer) work. Odometer works (!!) but the economy gauge and mpg readings don't and the speedo and ABS light sometimes have minds of their own. I believe that the issue is a combination of ABS sensor (front sensors definitely need replacing) and the batteries on the instrument cluster circuit board. The brakes will need to be serviced before the next inspection, so I planned to replace the ABS sensors at that time. The car has a replacement CD/Radio fitted but I have the original unit which will go with the car The power antenna stopped working and I took that out with the intention of repairing it but haven't got around to it. The antenna comes with the car. Even has the original BMW flashlight in the glovebox. Needs batteries, of course ....... Mechanical:The title doc shows the mileage as 'exempt'. I have an old service slip showing that the water pump, thermostat, etc. were replaced in 1996 at 152000 miles. eBay's history report shows a higher mileage recorded but I've not been able to verify that or when it was changed to 'exempt' and I don't know if the instrument cluster is original or has been repaired at some point. However, the engine runs nicely with no smoke, and oil and filter were changed at the last inspection. I'd bought a Timing Belt Tensioner Water Pump Valve Cover Gasket Kit to be on the safe side but haven't got around to fitting that either. This will also go with the car and contains the following items:Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Roller, Engine Timing Belt, Engine Water Pump, Engine Valve Cover Gasket, Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Spring, Engine Coolant Thermostat, Engine Crankshaft Seal, Engine Camshaft Seal. There's also 6 new NGK copper spark plugs that'll be included.Apart from the brakes which work fine but will need to be serviced before its next inspection, the car has a vibration under acceleration which my mechanic tells me is the drive shaft flex link, so I planned to replace that at the same time as having the brakes done. I've disclosed as much as I know or have learned about the car. It's a fun, solid car that I've used for cruising around at weekends and hoped to do a rolling restoration but job move means it'll just sitting in the garage. I've set a reserve price of $1900 which I think is reasonable. It's worth more than that in parts alone! I'd like a deposit (non-refundable!) of $250 and then the balance in cash when the car is collected. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. On Jan-10-16 at 09:44:16 PST, seller added the following information: RESERVE PRICE NOW LOWERED TO $1300.00!! Due to imminent job change I can't take this car with me and don't want to store it for 6 - 12 months so it has to go. I can't remove the reserve price at this stage of the auction so I've lowered it as far as possible to just above the current high bid. It's worth more in parts!!
