Vehicle Detail

1966 FORD F-100NO RESERVEThanks for checking out "Charles" my 1966 Ford F100. I absolutely love these trucks, very hard to find in this condition, this will make a great truck for someone to use as a daily driver or restore down the road. These are awesome trucks, you don't see them often, pretty rare these days. I have sold many of these trucks Internationally, they did not get rigs like this, and they have become very sought after in Europe and Australia. I am a Ford guy in general, and honestly would love to keep this one as a shop truck, but don’t really need to add anything at the moment, trying to thin the heard. I love the look of a nice honest stock truck, nothing fancy, most of them have been made in to low riders or hot rods, and just used and abused. Please check out the photos, Charles is a solid truck, mechanically in great shape, and very good body. Give me a call if you want to discuss it more. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 Condition: It was used like many of trucks, that is why Ford built them, they are tough pickups. It is pretty obvious that this truck has not been abused, just used and cared for. The bed is in great shape, a few dents in the bed wheel wheels but overall a great bed. It has been repainted most likely a few times, originally Ragoon Red. This is not a restored truck, just a vintage truck that someone took care of over the years. When they repainted it a long time ago, they changed the color to blue. The good thing is if you want to bring it back to red one day, they did not paint under the hood or door jams, that is original red paint, so you can get a good idea of the structure of this truck, plus you could leave the jams red, so makes work a lot easier. Very few bubbles on this truck, a couple small ones on front of hood, and very minor ones on bottom corner of one door, and minor on the bottom of the cabs, but overall very clean, roof gutter is clean no rust. Honestly this is one of the most solid vintage F100 trucks in this vintage I have seen in a while. Paint is old, and losing its luster, you can see were some of the blue flaked off around trim and such, but at the end of the day, you may want to paint it again down the road, to take it to the next level, but for now it looks good, and you can drive it and enjoy, maybe even bring it to a few weekend cruise nights and enjoy yourself. The paint I am guessing is over 20 years old, had scratches, chips etc. The undercarriage is in great shape there are lots of photos of underneath, nice floors, some very small pin holes but very minor. The corners of the cab, underneath you can see a little rust forming, but it is hidden and could be fixed easily. The frame is in great shape, no signs of rust, or repairs, I don’t think this truck ever carried any heavy loads, has a great stance, tracks good down the highway. The general chrome on the truck, has pitting and age to it. The side molding is in great shape, hard to find these trucks with this molding in this condition, needs to be restored. I believe this truck is a Custom Cab, because of the trim, but not sure, there is no Custom cab emblem, but they might have taken if off when they took the F100 badges off the fenders when they painted it. My guess, the emblems were in bad shape, so they left them off to repaint, just a guess. This is nicer than most F100 that are just driver/projects that have been on Ebay or elsewhere. Of course they are those trucks that are $15,000-25000 trucks, this is a very nice project for someone to restore, and build their dream truck, and you can drive it and enjoy it at the same time. . The front and rear bumpers are in really good shape, not perfect but nice for a driver. Overall the body is in very solid, and in great shape, besides some of the paint flaws. There are some small dings in it, but nothing really major, look at the pictures and you will get a very good idea of what it is or is not. Would have to have you come and look at it before you bid if you get the chance or send a friend in the area. Mechanically it is in pretty good shape. The engine is a 1968 302 V8 running a 2bbl intake manifold, basically a nice stock little motor. The Engine starts right up, and sounds great, very beefy sounding with the dual exhaust. The engine is a strong runner for sure, and you can pull almost anything with in reason. It does not smoke or burn oil, exhaust is clean, oil pressure reads around 25-30psi at idle when warm, so that is good. It has a stock truck 4spd Manual, it shifts very nice, no chatter or slipping, very smooth transmission. The throw out bearing sometimes makes a little noise, in reverse or when you put into 1st gear, it is just worn, nothing that I would change right away, because everything else is in working order transmission feels nice and smoht, and it doesn’t really effect anything, I notice it more when it is colder when you just start it up in general. I have had the truck out on the highway, and it does great at 60 mph runs no problem. The exhaust is in good shape no holes, sounds great. The brakes work very good, and do not pull, truck stops nice and straight. The suspension is all stock and actually drives pretty nice, the Twin I Beam was a great design, I don't think it has ever been rebuilt, so it wanders a little bit when you drive it, not much but not like new. I just put new shocks on the front of it, which helped a lot, rear ones seem in good shape. It does drive like your typical vintage truck, but overall very smooth. The tires are very nice they are matching all the way around, Firestone Wilderness AT 235/75/15, I would say they are about 90%, nice even wear. The wheels are nice Baby Moons, with nice caps, but have some rust pitting starting on them in some of the grooves. The odometer reads 50,058 they only had 5 digits at that time, so assume it has turned at least once. Overall mechanically the truck seems to be in good shape, obviously will need a little tinkering here and there, but mechanically it is good. Interior is in okay shape, nothing really to brag about, but overall is clean for an old truck. The seat has a seat cover over it, the seat itself does not have any rips or tears and padding is good, but I think in the past someone took a back of one seat and put it with another bottom. The bottom cushion has black vinyl and back has brown, forgot to take picture with cover off, but seat is in good repair, just needs matching material. Overall the interior is pretty clean, non smoker, this is something that I for sure would take my wife out on a date in, that is if she likes old trucks, it is not dirty inside is what I am saying, for a truck that has been driven and enjoyed.. Steering wheel, has few cracks at the base, but overall in good condition. The dash has a few cracks in it, pretty typical in these trucks, this was the first year for the padded dash in the F100/250. The original floor mat is still in the truck, but has some wear and on drivers side you can see were came apart some down the tunnel. There is no headliner in it, something you may want to install down the road, they reproduce them, they were a cardboard headliner, so most were taken out at some point. Gauges are working inside dash lights work, no radio inside has block off plate. All the exterior lights on the truck, are working. The wipers work in both speeds, heat works as well. Horn is not functioning. The front windshield does need replaced, has a crack on drivers side, see picture, and 1 chip, you could leave it as well, it is in the corner. The door glass rolls down nicely, and wing windows work. Overall a decent interior, something that would not take to much work to redo down the road. All in all the truck is a great old truck, but just needs some sorting out, but nothing major. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars.
