This is a decent looking 450SL convertible. It was bought as a project car and since we already have too many projects we need to get rid of it. The interior is decent, with good seats - the convertible top is torn but the removable hardtop is in good shape. It has a brand new air flow sensor and as a result the car starts and runs ok. The brakes work and transmission seems fine. The major mechanical systems are intact and in working order. The main problem with the car is that it has rust. There is rust in the floor boards, and quite a bit of rust repair patching is evident. The worst rust is in the rear trunk area. The fuel return line in the fuel tank is clogged (probably due to rust) and has been externally bypassed. This would be a fine project car for anyone with decent body work skills. This is a project car and is being sold in as is condition. Car can be started and does drive but in its current state it should not be driven on the roadways.
