Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1977 PORSCHE 911SNO RESERVE Thanks for checking out this 1977 Porsche 911S Sunroof Coupe. This is a very solid Porsche 911S, they only built 3,388 911S U.S. Coupes for 1977. This Porsche came out of California last year retrieved by a good friend of mine. He was planning on restoring this car especially since it was 911S and the icing on the cake, numbers matching sunroof coupe, which everyone is looking for. But he has not had time to really take on the project so just recently decided to turn it loose, he will regret it down the road, but has to many irons in the fire now. It has free and clear California title. This is a matching numbers 911S, which really makes it worth restoring, currently not running. Here is the VIN 9117201320, with numbers matching 2.7 ID:6272350, Gearbox: 915/16 7196915, I show pictures of all the VIN and ID numbers in the auction. This car was owned by a gentleman in California who had it for many years. He had parked it at his sons property in Northern Cali, left it under a portable carport for a few years, eventually giving it to his son. It was last on the road in 2007, were it sat til 2014. The tarp/canopy it sat under eventually started to leak, and the car sat out in the elements for a few years. The sunroof started to leak, as you will notice the headliner is out of the car, and the interior got wet and damp, and basically the car needs a good restoration, but is very solid, has very nice floors, in it, and structurally in great shape. The engine is not running currently, but seems to be in good repair, but will not know until the fuel system and ignition is gone through. The car does turn over, but will not fire, it has very weak spark, but honestly, it does turn over very good, and believe that it probably does runs. The pervious owners said that they did have it last started around 3 years ago, but they thought that the combination of old fuel, and ignition box in the engine compartment might have been having issues. With that said, until it is back on the road, I can not say exactly its current condition, when it comes to running and driving, it is inopt at this point, but it does steer, and does brake, so it can be loaded on and off a trailer with ease. I will help your transporter with getting it loaded. It is being sold as a project and needs someone to really take it to the next level and get it back on the road again. The body seems to be in very good shape, no signs of any major rust issues, a couple small bubbles behind rear window, but really no other signs besides that. The floors are very clean, had the carpet out, of the car, and floors inside look great, and underneath the car look very good. The nose of the car looks to be very clean, inner aprons are all clean, battery area looks very good. Up on a lift you can see inside the wheel wheels, and inner tubs all look very solid. I do see one small piece of sheet metal on the passenger side inner apron under the car up high, not sure why it is there actually, see picture. The paint is older and starting to fail. Its original color was Oak Green 265, it has been painted 2 times since new, at bronze/brown, and now white. I think bring it back to the special order Oak Green with Tan interior would look fantastic not a color you see that often. The are small blisters in the paint from being outside, with a tarp over it, you can see some paint checking and cracking on the passenger fender, looks like some filler was used in that fender, at some point, see photos. If you could get the car running again, it does look decent for a driver because it is one color, and does shine up pretty good, just know that it is older paint, and you will want to have it repainted one day. All the glass is in good shape, no chips or cracks. I was able to turn the car over, I can put the key in the ignition, it is a little stick, but it will turn the engine over, but the car is going to need mechanical work and electrical for sure. The lights come on in the dash, and things seam to be operational, but obviously I really don't know what works and what doesn't. The dash area did get wet from the leaking sunroof so gauges need to be looked at and such. If you look under the dash you can see lots of wiring, that needs to be sorted out. Take a look at the interior, some things are useable, but pretty rough in general from moisture damage. Obviously needs a headliner, and dash pad seat covers, door panel, carpet etc. It has original Fuchs on it, the tires are in bad shape and weather cracked, they need to be replaced, but he Fuchs are restorable. These cars are not growing on trees anymore, so this will make someone a great project.Take a look at all the photos below, there are a lot of positive things about this 911S even in project state. A 911S is very hard to find in these years, and the body on this car is in great shape and will make great project. The Porsche Market is in fire right now, and everyone is scrambling to get their hands on one, very hard to find anything affordable in this market right now. These cars are very sought after and great collectable cars, and on top of that they are awesome to drive, if you have not been behind the wheel of one you will be very surprised.
