Offered is a 1970 Corvette originally from Florida. Once part of a collection of low mileage vehicles belonging to a now deceased enthusiast. His wife started selling off his cars one by one as she was no longer able to enjoy them in his absence. She said the mileage was original but had no way to prove it but from what I have researched, the drivetrain appears to be original to the car right down to the vin stamped on the transmission. I did take the valve covers off to check head numbers and both are correct with sparkling cast iron and no signs of age so the oil has obviously been changed much more often than necessary. The owner built a brand new garage to store his collection of almost 20 cars and this one had the highest mileage of any, with a few big block Chevelles with under 1000 miles! Really quite impressive. Repainted in it's original color prior to his purchase. Nicely detailed and an absolute pleasure to drive. Still has the clutch interlock so the pedal needs to be down to start, carb. goes right to fast idle until engine warms, transmission shifts nice and smooth, clutch has no chatter or slippage, no differential noise, power steering makes parking an ease, tracks straight, stops evenly and accelerates very responsively. The normally troublesome headlight doors and wiper cover ALL OPERATE AS SOON AS THE SWITCH IS TURNED ON. All the instruments work as they should, including the clock and original FM radio (AM is intermittent). The A/C is currently out of freon but I had it charged last year and it did work. The compressor kicked in and it was very cold. It since has leaked (I think the condenser) but DOES WORK! All the interior lights work, including "door ajar", E-brake warning light, all gauge lights and the dimming switch, high and low beams, back-up lights, brake lights, turn signals and cancelling, horns, wipers, door locks, basically get in and drive. Very original car that even has the distributor band still in place with part # and date code (you can actually see it in the picture of the choke side of the carb)! The exterior trim is very nice and the paint shows very well. It has the optional "PO2" Factory hubcaps mounted on the original rally wheels. I'm getting ready to put it away for the Winter, but my original intention was to wait until Spring so if you want a Vette convertible before the Spring rush, here's your opportunity. It's already got it's shot of "STABIL" for the Winter, so if it doesn't sell, back to a warm garage until Spring weather.Please ask questions as the only dumb ones are those that are not asked.
