Vehicle Detail
This is an all original, untouched 1957 Chevy, it will need a total restoration to bring it back to its original glory. The car is solid with rust holes on the driver’s side front fender, driver’s rocker panel the passenger side rear quarter, and will need front floor patch panels, found hole on drivers side by door jam and was soft on passengers side in same location. It has surface rust on the passenger door and light surface rust on other parts of the car. The rear bumper is in bad shape, the rest of the chrome is not bad. The interior has a worn front seat and the back seat is not too bad. The original spare tire is still in the trunk with the original jack. I matched the tires on the car with the spare and purchased them from Corker tire. I am the third owner of this car and purchased it in 1985. I drove it on the weekends until about 2000. The car has less than 70,000 original miles. I moved to Florida in 2004 and had to leave the car in Kentucky were it sat until I brought it down about 4 years ago. The car no longer runs, I have purchased a new gas tank with filler neck seals, radiator hoses, new battery tray, spark plugs and wires, points and condenser, distributor cap, carburetor kit, and shop manual. These parts all come with the car to get the new owner started. After several people asked about the floor pans and the frame, I had a buyer of several 1957 Chevys look the car over for me since I am not professional car person. He pointed out the the car was solid with the problems listed above. This 1957 Chevy was originally purchased from Ray Ridge Chevrolet, Inc. in Trenton, Michigan on November 7, 1956 by Katherine Tyre from Detroit, Michigan. She traded in her 1941 Dodge 2 door for $200.00 towards the price of her new car. The accessories on the new 1957 Chevy: a Heater, Undercoat, Side Mirror, and Windshield Washers for a total price of $1900.00 including Taxes, License, and Title. The salesman was Hank Flocko. Paperwork that comes with the car is as follows, The Order placed with the Dealership, 2 Check receipts, 1 for the $200.00 trade in, 1 for the balance of $1700.00, Owner Service Policy, Owner's Delco Battery Warranty and Adjustment Service Policy, Ray Ridge Chevrolet, Inc. Paperwork Folder, Several Michigan Registrations from the original owner and the second owner (second owner was the niece of Katherine) and the original owner’s manual. Katherine owned the car until she went legally blind and at that time her niece, Dorothy Standard took possession of the car. I purchased the car from Dorothy in 1985.Please take a look at all the pictures and call (954-732-0156) email me with any questions before bidding.
