1978 Volvo 244 DLThis car was initially bought in California and stayed in San Jose, California it's whole life. Car was stored for a long period of time and less than a year ago the gas tank and fuel system were cleaned and some related parts were replaced as a precaution. I used the car for a while and has since been sitting again, however based on my mechanic's advice, it was decided to add fuel stabilizer to the small amount of gas left in the tank. Car starts right up and runs very well and the transmission is shifting very smooth. Suspension and brakes are effective as well. Car has old Volvo factory radio which I think is not connected but I left it in the car just to preserve it's originality. Everything else is original on the car but the hub caps which I upgraded to newer Volvo caps for a better look. (Original beauty rings are included as well.) Interior door panels, the headliner, are in excellent condition as seen in the pictures. Only the driver seat back part needs a little attention, I believe it can simply be stitched back together however it could have cost me less to repair the seat rather than use the covers which provide more comfort.It is my policy to present my classics on an as is basis even though prior to selling, I spend a substantial amount of money and time on repairs, maintenance and overall improvements. This car has absolutely no rust, there are some typical dings and imperfections on it’s 37 year body that can mostly be handled paint-lessly by a dent pro. The paint looks original and shiny, there is no evidence of over spray anywhere. Please be noted that I tried to the best of my knowledge and ability to describe the car correctly, so please see all the pictures and ask any and all questions you may have before bidding. I am retired with poor health and am forced to reduce the number of my hobbies. I believe whoever buys these Volvos already knows they are dependable cars, durable and easy to work on. I would appreciate the potential buyer be financially capable of fulfilling his or her commitment as I am not in the position of financing the car. Car has no DMV fees due in California and has a clean title under my name. Thanks for your attention.
