Vehicle Detail
Look left look right and up and down...This is the only vintage 500CC machine you will see. Only 45 years old. She is no garage queen...(although garaged most of her life) but has all the mojo you can ask for, being mostly original. She always gathers a lil' crowd and lots of lookers. You can just ride away with always a 1 or 2 kick start...or take it to your lab and restore her because she is a solid candidate if you want to go that route. Bike smokes when first started, and leaks a little oil. runs a lil rough when the headlight is on.No turn signals...so re-learn your hand signals.has right foot shift....(4 speed)Horn/speedo does not work, (cable does.)Drag pipes. 2 to 1, (the ONLY old modification) They have some volume.seat is very good, one little tear in the rear...thats' it. and now. . .the good. Runs pretty strong for a 500Recent transmission rebuild not even 100m on it since.New valve guides and valves ground.New gaskets: head and base.New AMAL 626 Carb $$$, old one and rebuild kit included.Inline filtersNew Air Cleaner/assemblyNew PetcocksNewer Fork Boots/Gaitorsoriginal manual !has grab bar, and tail light extension, & chrome steering dampener....funky extras usually not found. Age appropriate bags for your crap.decent rubber…Matching number and frame bike!Title ready to be signed over to you. Be serious, there have been a fair share of tire kickers, and folks pointing out what I have described as the imperfections/needs. And of course my favorite "Son, I used to have one of those, bought it new for.....blah blah blah. These classic single carb twin 500's never come up for air. If you care for this bike and do a little here and there you will enjoy the present & future with it...and get back what you put into it....which is what I am doing. Do not buy this if your not handy or know someone who is, it is a Triumph not a Jap bike. Eh, you probably wouldn't be reading this anyway if you did not have some Fonz in ya. May deliver within 100 miles. You will have to arrange for shipping. or come and get it. reference NADA guide etc.
