Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1969 Mustang Mach 1 project car. I purchased this car thinking I would have the time to restore it, but I was wrong and am sad to see it go. This is a rolling chassis, numbers matching rebuild. Most of the tear down and been completed for you so there is a ton of personal or labor hours saved right there. The dash still needs to come out, electrical through out and all the engine lines. This car is 90% ready to start a restore, and with a plentiful amount of parts available online, it will not be hard to get everything you need and at a relatively cheap price. I'm classifying this as a rolling chassis and not a shell because included you will get the numbers matching engine (please note the engine as been taken apart, but all original pieces are there), all engine components/pieces (not sure what works and what doesn't), drive shaft (may need to be replaced), and FMX transmission. Both the engine and transmission will need a full rebuild. Vin specs have this as a winter blue exterior and white interior (black carpeting/accents). It is an auto (FMX) with a 351W. It also is spec'd for power steering and A/C (components are there but may need to be rebuilt/replaced). Here's what needs to be done to the body (may not be an all inclusive list): - front end needs to be replaced (frame rails are salvageable, but all fender aprons, shock towers and the radiator support needs to be replaced) - cowl is in so so condition (may be salvageable if you are handy, if not, a new one will be needed) - side cowl on passenger side is banged up and will need to be replaced - fire wall is salvageable, but some spots will need repair - front end drive components are ok but will need to be sand blasted and re finished (rotors are not salvageable, bushings will need to be replaced) - radiator/condensor/dryer needs to be replaced (I do have if interested) - all front end bumper components were scrapped - portions of the floor pan need to be replaced (a majority of the passenger floor pan is gone) - rear wheel wells need to be replaced - tail light support is in rough condition, more than likely needs to be replaced - trunk lid needs to be replaced but will be on the car for pickup (latch works fine) - rear differential will need to be rebuilt - car is missing all trunk floor pans - I have both doors (1 is currently off, but both shells will need to be replaced; all door components seem to be fine; door trims will also need to be replaced, but I do have) - both fenders were scrapped as they were not salvageable (including headlight buckets) - no front windshield - all remaining trim molding was scrapped - leaf springs will more than likely need to be replaced - overall body is in pretty good condition, but there are spots that will need attention/repair Other than mentioned above, here is what else I have from gutting the vehicle. You can choose to take these parts with you or no, your choice: - bucket seats (1 just needs a deep cleaning, 1 needs full reupholster, rear bucket needs a deep cleaning) - I have the dash pad, but it is not salvageable - rear windshield is intact but needs a good cleaning - interior rear quarter panel plastic sections (will need to be repainted as cleaning them will just rub the paint off) - center console (1 of the screw holes was cracked) - all dash components (including the clock that is located on the passenger side) - rear bumper is on, but needs to be replaced - I have the hood (started re-fabrication, but unsure if the front trim lip can be saved) - I have the original rims/hub caps (tires will need to be replaced) Both lists above are not all inclusive, but should give you a good idea of what lies ahead for this rebuild.
