THIS NICE SAAB AERO WAGON IS OFFERED AT $200 STARTING BID WITH "NO RESERVE". HIGH BIDDER WINS! PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION - LOTS OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION LISTED. CLEAN TITLE HISTORY, NO ACCIDENTS EVER, ONLY 2 OWNERS AND IT SHOWS. I purchased this Saab wagon with the intention of keeping it for a very long time, since it is such a CLEAN car. I have owned over 2 dozen Saab's and I'm always looking for well-cared and maintained Saab's, to spruce up and drive for a while (at least until I find the next "nice" one). I have just purchased a 2002 wagon (black) with 41k original miles, that's the only reason for selling the green wagon, I don't need 2. Already have 2 other "nice" 9-5 sedans in the fleet, plus a half dozen other collectible cars; I would like to stay married, I've ran out of room so my wife says at least one has to go. NOTE: All interior pictures were taken yesterday Oct.19...the date shown on the display in some of the pictures shows the wrong date (Dec. 31), this was before I reset the display to the correct date. The interior of this wagon is near perfect, and the body is in very good condition... that's why I decided to pull the engine a year ago shortly after purchase and give it a complete refresh. Even though the engine ran well AND it had 210 psi compression in ALL 4 cylinders, I wanted to make a very reliable family cruiser, so I went ahead and pulled the engine out (I can pull a Saab 9-5 engine in 2.5 hrs now) to: inspect the sump, crankshaft journals, timing chain, etc. The sump was clean, with little to no sludge or debris. The crank journals were nice with NO scoring and didn't need polishing, the timing chain, however, was stretched and the timing chain guides were very brittle and a small chunk missing on the tensioner side. So, I pulled the head, I steam cleaned the block, head and all accessories...Then replaced the following parts upon re-assembly: * New main timing chain and gears, new balancer chain and gears.* Cleaned and polished ALL intake and exhaust valves and installed new valve-stem seals.* New head gasket, and new head bolts.* New intake and exhaust gaskets installed.* New exhaust manifold studs/washers/nuts.* New Turbo-to-manifold studs/washers/nuts.* New main and rod standard-size bearings. * New various engine gaskets and seals. * New water pump, new thermostat and all new water pipe o-rings.* Brand new turbo (not rebuilt), old turbo had slight axial play in the turbine wheels.* New oil screen and oil passage 0-rings.* Flushed heater core, radiator and lines. Filled with long-life coolant and Mobil-1 oil. . I also put on new tires, new front brake pads and new rotors, about 9 months ago. This wagon starts and runs great, I've driven it for about a year now, but it does have a couple of small issues at the moment, read below: CONS: * It has developed a small oil leak, it seems to be coming from the oil pan area. When idling, it drips about 1 drop every minute or so onto the ground (No active drips with engine off). At last oil change (after 3,000 miles), it was about 1/2 quart low. I currently have other projects and have lost interest in this one so I'm selling it as is.* I have gotten the code for "airflow/mass sensor circuit" a couple of times within past 6 months, with accompanying CEL. CEL goes away by itself after 3 starts and stays off for a while; most likely airflow sensor is failing ($80 on Ebay for a new one).* The Body is in very nice condition, and it does NOT have ANY major dents, scratches or dings...but it does have a small dent just below the right rear quarter window (3rd.picture) and typical rust spot in front of both rear wheel-well openings (dogleg), very common on these cars, simple to repair.* The front lower air dam needs to be painted, it has some rock chips and paint is peeling, see pictures. This could be done at the same time as the wheel opening rust repair, if you choose to fix those. Then the body would be perfect. PROS:* Interior is near perfect, Aero Sport seats are heated and cooled with NO rips, tears, fading or cracks. Door panels have no fading, no rips and NO stains. No dead pixels in any of the message displays. No malfunction codes on the SID display, shows "Check OK" upon start-up. No malfunction codes on the HVAC diagnostic either. Every electrical accessory works ! The legendary Harman-Kardon Stereo sounds incredible, no dead or bad speakers, great subwoofer with deep base. * Good tires, good brakes and good exhaust. Steering is very tight with no strange noises.* Bi-Xenon headlighs with automatic height adjust work great.* Original paint is very glossy, no blemishes, just the two rust spots and small dent, as explained above and pictured.* New direct ignition cassette 1 year ago. This is a very nice car and A LOT of work and A LOT of money in parts has been spent on the engine alone (As shown in the pictures), but the car is not perfect nor am I claiming it to be perfect; after all it is 12 years old. See the issues described above. Fix the minor issues and you'll have a VERY nice wagon. The engine runs very smoothly and pulls hard. Car has no shakes or rattles at any speed up to 100 MPH (have not tried to go faster but I'm sure it'll do just fine higher than that). ==================== AUCTION TERMS ========================================================$500 deposit due immediately after auction ends. If you have zero or low feedback, do not bother bidding unless I get an email from you first explaining any low or negative feedback. This is NOT a game, I don't have time for it; It costs money to list on Ebay so no jokers or tirekickers please. All non-paying bidders WILL be reported.============================================================================================ Thanks for looking at my auction. GOOD LUCK !
