Vehicle Detail
1965 Dodge W200 Power Wagon Solid, Old School, with Exceptional Patina Super solid and straight, this runner could be used as is, fully restored, or be the basis for a diesel conversion, restomod, etc. Odometer shows 90K. Has an old Agriculture Department sticker on the cab. The OEM data plates on the door jamb are not present. The truck comes with a current Utah title. I have been driving the truck on the road for a while, and it’s a beast. Handles and drives like you would expect from a 50-year old ¾-ton 4WD pick up. Lots of fun, and always gets attention. Find a video of this truck at youtube.com/watch?v=z57cAUA5Mks Body- The body is extremely solid. Doors, fenders, box, cab floor, foot wells, and hood are all very good to excellent original condition, with the exception of dents and dings. Minor repairs were made at the rockers and the bottom of the radiator support where dirt and moisture had collected. Two of the cab mounts need replacing. Most of the surface is original patina, with added highlights. The entire body was top coated with 2-coats of two-stage urethane clear in a flat/satin finish. Preparation included a thorough cleaning, light scuff, and solvent wipe. A new bed was installed using BCX plywood. It’s not the original type, but serves it purpose and looks good. There are absolutely no rust issues with the frame, which has been cleaned, coated with Rustoleum red primer, followed by a top coat of Rustoleum Industrial satin black. Glass is good except 1 vent window is plexiglass. Engine- 318 Poly, 2BBL, fires right up and runs good. Can’t tell you the last time it was rebuilt, if ever. It doesn’t not burn oil from what I’ve seen, and does not overheat. The oil and filter has been changed, and the engine tuned with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump and fuel filter. There’s some noise/top end clatter, but all in all a solid runner. Driveline- 4-speed manual transmission, twin stick transfer case, 4:11 gears, limited slip Dana 44 rear, and large-knuckle Dana 70 front. The front knuckles are well greased, and the axles and gear cases have been topped off. There are some leaky seals and gaskets. The drives shafts and u-joints are in good working condition. I was told the clutch was replaced not too long ago. Brakes, Steering, Suspension- Large, manual drum brakes all around stop the truck with confidence. Emergency brake works good. Steering has some play, but truck tracks well. Everything has been recently greased. Suspension looks stock with the addition of new rear shocks. Tires are 31” and have good tread. Interior- Pretty much stock. Aftermarket seat belts need replacing. Front seat is fully functional having been repaired and a cover installed. Door panel, knobs, handle etc. are in good condition and appear to be original. A custom carpet and rubber floor mat have been installed. Other- Headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and horn are all working. The dash lights, back-up lights, and flashers are not working. Blower motor works, defroster diverter opens and closes, but heater knob/cable/diverter is seized. Windshield wiper motor and wipers are present, but switch is missing. Alt meter, gas gauge, and oil light work, but temp gauge and speedometer not functioning. This western truck is an attractive example of the Dodge W Series. The classic Power Wagon look is totally cool. This truck has not been restored. It is a solid, running truck that is functional as is.
