Only 500 miles on fully rebuilt original engine with documentation. Rebuilt brakes with Girling front discs. A survivor that is still wearing some of it's original paint. Rust free undercarriage. Heritage certificate confirms numbers matching engine and original color of Colorado Red. Optioned with desirable overdrive and adjustable steering column. Painted 15" wire wheels. Includes Dynaplastics hard top, convertible top frame, side curtains and other extra parts. Recent tuneup just completed. A great driver as is or excellent full restoration candidate. Photos and Videos Body, Trim and Paint Having mostly resided in eastern Washington, the body of this 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BT7 has been very well preserved. The upper body is very straight with no dents. The undercarriage appears to be mostly original with no rust. All major original trim parts are present and in fair condition. All chrome parts show a nice shine. Front and rear light Lucas lenses show no cracks. There is no soft top, but the soft top frame and original side curtains are included. A nice fitting Dynaplastics hardtop is also included. Missing wiper blades and side mirror faces. Majority of the original Colorado Red paint appears to be present, with perhaps an older repaint to the right rear quarter panel. The paint has a cool patina with some small areas of missing paint on doors and right rear quarter panel, but overall it's fine for a driver.Interior The Black interior is complete. The interior is older but overall the interior is of a fair driver quality. Usable as is. All gauges, switches and knobs on the face of the dash are present, except the headlight switch knob and washer pump knob. Electricals Front headlights, parking lights, tail lights, brake lights and windshield wipers are functional. The starter and generator are functioning fine. Speedometer, tachometer, water temp, oil pressure and fuel gauges are functional. Horn and turn signals are presently not functioning. 12 volt battery holds charge. The heater blower and radio are not installed, but are included. New wiring harness was installed during engine rebuild. Engine and Transmission The engine has been completely and professionally rebuilt and upgraded. The engine is the original 2912cc inline six cylinder (number 29D/RU/H3199) with twin SU carburetors. Engine rebuild is well documented. The engine starts very easily and accelerates with excellent power. The engine emits that original and classic throaty exhaust note. The engine rebuild work (see photos of rebuild records) was completed between 2004 and 2007 and included: Cleaned and pressure tested block, rebore cylinders, resurface cylinder block, line hone main bearings, prepared block with all new soft plugs, balanced assembly of crank and rods with flywheel, cut and polished crankshaft, remachined camshaft, rebuilt water pump, new oil pump, lightened and balanced flywheel, hardened valve seats, new valves and valve guides, new clutch and pressure plate. The engine was professionally tuned within the last month. The needle and seats in the SU carburetors were replaced with the upgraded viton seal type. The original 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly. Overdrive is installed, but not presently functional. CLICK HERE FOR ENGINE RUNNING VIDEO Suspension, Wheels, Tires and Brakes The suspension is in very good condition with newly rebuilt lever shocks. The original 15" painted wire wheels are currently installed and are in very good condition. The original spare is present and included. All four 165R15 sized radial tires have approximately 500 miles on them and were installed new in 2008. They are in good condition with good tread. The brakes are functioning very well with records of rebuilt front Girling calipers, new front brake pads, new brakes lines and hoses, new rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders within last 500 miles. The emergency brake is correctly adjusted and holds tight. Extra Parts and Documentation The following extra parts are included: Spare wheel, original side curtains, original soft top frame, hard top, heater blower, radio and miscellaneous other parts. Documentation includes clear title, British Heritage certificate and detailed engine rebuild and service records from 2004 to 2015. Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is due within 24 hours of the auction close. The remaining balance is due within 7 days from the close of auction, unless other arrangements were made. Accepted payment methods are bank wire transfers, cashier's checks and money orders. If you wish to obtain financing, please do so ahead of time. We reserve the right to end the auction early. We also reserve the right to verify any or all bids to ensure exceptional auction integrity. Please do not ask the reserve amount, as we will not disclose this information. Shipping: Transportation expenses are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days from close of the auction, after which a storage fee of $25.00 per day (or partial day) will be charged. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and fees from point of sale to the final destination. In addition, it is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange & coordinate shipping.
