Vehicle Detail

PLEASE READ: Buyers with zero to 5 feedback, please DO NOT BID. Up for sale is a gorgeous 1970 XJ6. I am a long time Jaguar enthusiast and my wife and I have owned and restored over 20 classic Jaguar saloons since the late 1990s. This particular vehicle has the very desirable Euro specifications: 2.8 engine, with 4 speed (with OD, like on the old XKE, Mark II, etc), large headlights, etc. It had a new paint job about 4 years ago. It has new Dayton wire wheels that have less than 200 miles on them. This car came from a collector in Virginia, who bought it from the original Canadian owner. The interior is all original, except for a new headliner, and is in very good shape, except for the top of the rear seat, which is dried and cracked in a few spots, and the driver's seat is separated at the seams in a couple of spots. The carpets and trim are in excellent shape, as is the wood bits. The interior just has that amazing "Jag" feel to it! The bad news: The body panels are in great shape, in fact I believe the front fenders are brand new. However, there is significant rust issues in various areas of the car that will definitely need to be attended to to get this car back on the road. The rocker panel and jacking point on the passenger's side near the rear wheel, and the driver's floor board are rusted through and need to be replaced. I've sourced both a new rocker panel and floor pan, both can be had for about $200 total from this company alfaparts.net , and is a simple welding job to put them in because they are pre-cut and a perfect fit. There is also rust in the radiator frame area, and some surface bubbling in various spots around the gas tanks, rear valance, etc. The good news: The Dayton Wire Wheels are new (as are the tires) and at $1500 a set, are worth what I am asking for the car. The all original 4 speed with OD by itself is worth another $2000 easily. The engine ran strong when it was parked a few months ago, and I have no reason to believe there are any major issues with the engine and this very desirable 4 speed w/OD clutch. The interior is very presentable and restorable in the areas that aren't perfect. There is not one drop of oil on my garage where this car has been sitting. The driver's side gas tank has been closed off, currently it only runs on the passenger's side tank. I don't know if that is because one of the fuel pumps went bad or what, but either way for the driver's side tank to be used it will need to be flushed and cleaned. The other tank is fine, as is the fuel pump for it. I drove on one tank in both my 1966 Mark 10 and my 1972 XJ6 for years and didn't worry about flushing out the other tank! The car can easily be towed and shipped anywhere in the world. I have shipped cars all over the world over the years...even a non-rolling Jaguar Mark 2 to Iceland one time! I would be happy to coordinate very affordable shipping of this car (at buyer's expense) to anywhere in the world, utilizing a carrier I have used many times over the years. Will listen to offers, but be reasonable--keep in mind that the wheels alone are worth $1500, and offer accordingly from there. I need my garage space, I have two other Jaguars that I want to keep in the garage, and I just don't have the time or space to get this one finished. It MUST sell in the next week or I will have to pay to have it stored. I bought it on a whim last year, and just need to let someone else have it. Contact me via eBay for more pictures, I have plenty of the undercarriage, more of the interior, body panels, etc. The car is currently in the Norfolk, Virginia area. $500 Paypal Deposit due immediately upon end of auction, balance either in person or via Paypal within 48 hours. On Sep-27-15 at 10:13:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Please see in the listing, this car is in the Norfolk, VA area, not Dayton Ohio.
