1978 Honda CR

This Midwest barn find is a NON-RUNNING 1978 Honda CR125M that is an excellent candidate for a winter restoration project, AHRMA vintage racer, or parts bike. Most everything is there just needs some TLC to bring it back to life. Engine turns over and has spark but won't start. Carb leaks fuel Trans shifts through all gears See pictures for more details on condition. This was a bike I obtained with a collection of old bikes so I do not know any past history of this bike. Research shows that the 1978 CR125M is a rare low production bike due to the fact that It was the last year of the "M" series before the totally redesigned and radical 1979 CR125R model was released. It's also common knowledge that the late 1970's 125cc "YELLOW" asian dirt bikes seemed to be more advanced, better in performance, and in greater demand. The 1970's energy crises didn't help recreational mototorcyle sales either. The 1978 model was almost identical to the 1976 and 1977 CR125's. Just cosmetic differences between these years so the parts are interchangeable. Frame VIN # CR125M-32003194 Tank has a few shallow dents. Tires hold air but show signs of dry rot. Original D.I.D. Rims. Seat cover is torn. Some light rust. The air box to carb boot is missing. Carb leaks fuel. New grips and levers. Sold as is.
