Mercedes, R129, SL 600 AMG V12 Roadster 1997 I have for sale my Mercedes SL 600 AMG Roadster with a 6.0L, V12 450 Horsepower engine. Has over 20,000 in AMG and Renntech Upgrades. This car in 1997 was 139,000 brand new, the first owner added 20,000 in AMG trim, and Renntech upgrades including a 50 horsepower boost. The car has been meticulously taken care of by all three owners, I being the third. I have all the documentation to prove it, including all upgrades done to the car. This car is truly a one of a kind and I have not seen an SL-600 like this before. A real head turner. The car has 52,587 miles on it and is getting closer to 53,000 since I am currently driving it. The car runs mechanically perfect! The exterior is in excellent condition for its age with only a few minor scratches and one or two very small chips in the paint. There is virtually no rust on this car…anywhere. Period! I wash; wax and clay bar the car often and keep it in show room condition, as it is my baby. As well as the interior, which is in fantastic condition, I use mother’s leather cleaner often and have detailed the car using wax and clay bar treatments four times this summer. The car has always been washed after or in between rides. The convertible canvas top is like brand new; the previous owner paid almost 6,000 to have it installed. The convertible top goes up and down with a push of a button and operates flawlessly. I also have a hard top to go on the car that is in excellent condition. The car has a built in passport radar detector installed. It has a Premium sound system that was installed when I got the car, including Kenwood deck, and Bose speakers and tweeters all the way around. I upgraded it by adding four subwoofers. Two 8-inch kickers behind the driver’s seat installed in a compartment, and two 12-inch kickers in an enclosure in the trunk. I also have two new pioneer amps, one four way running the front sound system and a new pioneer 900 watt running the big box sub in the back. The 12-inch kickers in the trunk can be easily be removed to free up trunk space and the sound system would still sound amazing. Besides the cars power, the sound system is really, a joy as it plays all music to absolute perfection and sounds so clear, crisp and loud! The car has beautiful leather around the entire interior, which displays its classic luxury for its time. The seats are heated which work great and heat the entire seat, the seats also have many different points of adjustment which all runs great. Even the seat belt can be moved up and down along with the headrest. The only problems with the car is the rear view mirror wiggled out of place, since a small black bracket slowly broke away. I do not really have the money to fix this problem but I still have the rear view mirror and all the parts. In addition, the headliner in the convertible top is not in the best condition and does the job but could use a replacement. However, it does not bother me. There are a few scuffmarks far below the front bumper skirt, but you have to get on your knees to see them. There are parking scuffs from the previous owner, but are not a big deal in my eyes. I really do not want to sell the car, as the previous owner was like a father to me and when he passed from cancer, I received the car. I told him I did not want to sell the car and rather keep it in his memory, but he advised me to sell the car to pay off college loans. I am only 25 years old so it is slowly becoming clear that it would be better to be debt free and start looking to build a house, so I think it is time to sell. This car is my baby; I cannot express the amount of hours I have put into this car making it immaculately clean. It is going to make someone a very special car. I have gotten tons of complements on its looks, although the exhaust always seems to take the cake, turning heads with its luxury roar and clean performance.
