1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SL I have owned the car for two years as my fun car. It had been sitting for a while when I bought it, I flushed all fluids, replaced plugs and wires, and bought new tires. Since then I have driven it 4-5 times per month and it has been fun and reliable. In winter I have the top down all the time, in summer I put the hard top on and the a/c keeps the car nice and cool. Here is a summary of the goods and bads of the car, please call or email with questions. The Good- Newer repaint looks great. Chrome is almost perfect. Seats and carpet almost perfect with just some small wear on the driver's side. Soft top is perfect. Has rear seats and seatbelts! Tires have just a few thousand miles on them. A/C blows cold. In April the TIMING CHAIN($2000) was replaced, fuel accumulator, fuel filter, and soft fuel lines replaced. The Bad- Dash has a few cracks. The wheels some have some pitting/flaking. The picture is of the worst one. One of the climate control buttons is missing. (works fine) Cruise Control does not work. Windshield Wipers do not work.There is a crack in the windshield in front of the passenger. It is not noticeable at all in the drivers seat so I have not bothered to fix. Don't let these items scare you away, this is a great car that can be a daily or weekend driver. I am as honest as possible in my listings so you don't come and look at the car and be surprised by what you find. This car looks great and is a great deal for someone who wants some cheap fun with the best SL's ever built! Thanks for looking!
