Vehicle Detail

1965 CHEVROLET C10RARE – BIG BACK WINDOW – SHORTBOXNO RESERVE Thanks for checking out "Oscar" my 1965 Chevrolet C10. Yes, this is a Rare Big Back Window C10, very hard to find. These are great trucks, you don't see these often, they are pretty rare actually these days, especially when it comes to short bed stepsides. I am a Ford guy in general, don’t tell my friends, but Chevrolet really out did all the other makers when it came to the looks and styling of the Chevy trucks. I love the look of a nice honest 1962-66 Chevrolet stock truck, nothing fancy, most of them have been made in to low riders or hot rods, especially short beds. Honesty when was the last time you seen one of these trucks out and about cruising around on a daily basis, big back windows are hard to find. This truck with a little effort will make a cool parade, vintage gas station truck, I can see the Sinclair Dino on the door, or Flying A theme, this will make a great conversation piece for your business, shop truck, racecar push truck, farmers market, and yes perfect to take the grand kids out in for a parade and ice cream. Please check out the photos, Oscar is a solid truck, mechanically he is very sound. Give me a call if you want to discuss it more. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 Condition: It was used like many of them, it has been repainted most likely a few times. The paint is older on it, a retired gentleman redid it, he just wanted a nice driver to use around his property, note a restored truck, just something that looked nice, had color on it, and served his purpose, general usability. Nice restored trucks like this, can fetch up to $25-35K depending on the restoration, this truck is not taht, but a very nice driver, and has plenty of room to build the truck of your dreams. His efforts when it came to paint lets just say he was an amateur when it came to skills, nothing wrong with that, just not a show truck, he just never really got to finish his project, so passing the torch to the next guy, he did all the hard work though, just getting this old Oscar back on the road. It does have a nice shine to it, but at the end of the day, you may want to paint it again down the road, but for now, it looks good, and you can drive it and enjoy, maybe even bring it to a few weekend cruise nights and enjoy yourself, it is a very handsome truck, I do have to admit, even with its flaws. I get thumbs up all around town when I take it out. It looks great from 20+ft away, under lights you see more flaws. Out in the natural light, or sun, it looks good, you see flaws here and there, outside, but looks decent, most people wouldn't notice, but as you come closer, you will notice things about the paint, lots of sanding scratches, a little wavy down the sides, body works is not perfect, the guy tried his best, but something are better left to professionals. This is nicer then most C10 I see that are just driver/projects that you have seen on Ebay or elsewhere It is very solid, it has not been modified, it is extremely stock which is refreshing and very hard to find Big Back Window C10. As you look closer at all my photos you will notice small cracks in some of the seams, you can see a lot of imperfections in the paint, there are chips and scratches that have been touched up on the truck. If you look close the doors, are a little light shade. There are larger chips and scratches that have been touched up. This will make someone a great driver/project truck. The truck is solid, but it does have a little rust at the bottom of the passenger bottom corner of the cab, and you if you look toward the front of cab underneath you can see some issues with the floor he used some fiberglass in the corners of the cab. If you look were the scuff plates are, you can see some rust issues below scuff plates. I took lots of pictures of it underneath so you can get a good idea of what it is. If you can come in person to look before you bid, then that would be even better. The grill and bumpers are in really nice condition. Very nice Real Oak Bed in it with Stainless rails, looks very nice. The guy did some nice things to the truck, but his body work was not the best, but that is easy to fix down the road. The C10 is very solid, in perfect condition for someone to do a minor exterior restoration on it, it would not take that much to do the truck. Mechanically it is in pretty good shape. The engine from what I researched is a 1969 Camaro/Nova 230 Inline 6, with Suffix Code AN, block casting is 3921968. The Engine starts right up, and sounds great, it does have a choke on the dash, you got to feather it a little bit, but it does fire up pretty fast. The engine is a strong runner, very good power. The engine actually runs very good, no noise or lifter clatter very smooth running, and has good power, I love the sound of a Chevy inline 6. It has new side cover gaskets, and valve cover gasket, they were seeping a little, so decided to clean are repaint the covers, and reinstall new gaskets, engine looked good across the rockers, pretty clean for the vintage. There is normal engine oil residue, but no major oil leaks currently, maybe a drop or 2 when it sits, but pretty minimal. These engines are very good bullet proof motors, very dependable and have plenty of power. It does not smoke or burn oil, exhaust is clean. The carb is good, but probably could use a little tuning, but over all is in good shape, a rebuild of carb and tuneup down the road might be good for this old guy. The transmission is a standard granny gear manual 4psd on the floor. The transmission shifts nice, clutch feels good, no driveline or rear end noise. It shifts nicely, does not pop out of gear, reverse works well. No transmission noise, sounds nice and tight. The rearend, feels good no slop in it or howl. The exhaust is in good shape no holes, sounds great. The brakes work very good, and do not pull, truck stops nice and straight, emergency brake is not hooked up currently. The suspension is all stock and actually drives pretty nice, I was pretty surprised, a set of new shocks would be helpful. I don't think the suspension has ever been rebuilt, so it wonders a little bit when you drive it, not much but a little. It does drive like your typical vintage truck, but it will give you a smile on your face every time you pull it in to the local cruise-in. As you can see from the engine compartment, it is original looking, and very stock. Just general maintenance items through the years. The tires are new, they are 215/75/15. It has been upgraded with 2" Atlas Portawalls, if you want to take them off and run black walls, easy to remove if you chose. Overall mechanically the truck seems to be in good shape, obviously will need a little tinkering here and there, but mechanically it is good. Interior is in great shape. The seat has been recovered a few years ago, shows a little wear but in nice shape. Overall the interior is pretty clean, this is something that I for sure would take my wife out on a date in, it is not dirty inside, very clean, for a truck that has been driven and enjoyed. The carpet is newer, but there is a tiny bit dirty, very minor in person you don't notice it to much, you'll probably put floor mats in it, you might be able to steam clean it, but honestly it looks very nice. Very nice looking inside not perfect but very nice for a driver and very comfortable to ride in. Non Smoker, very pleasant. The biggest issue it needs inside is the wiring. I have a new wiring harness that is included , interior lights don’t work, the speedometer, odometer, generator gauge all work, but the rest of the gauges are not working, some not hooked up, the new wiring harness will be nice to upgrade underneath the dash All the exterior lights on the truck, are working, thanks to the aftermarket turn switch. The heater does work, it has a pull switch if you notice in the dash, but no tubes for defrost, the radio, ashtray, and heater switcher have block off plates. The wipers are currently not working, horn and dome light do not work. The glass is in nice shape as well, no cracks, or chips. The door glass rolls down nicely, and wing window work. The rubber gaskets on the truck are old, but it does stay dry inside, it currently does not have door gaskets on it. Overall a great looking interior. All in all the truck is a great old truck, but just needs some sorting out. The bed is in excellent condition, restored the correct way, correct hardware, upgraded with polished stainless. This is a truck that you can take in parades, use at the local farmers market, put your business logo on, and enjoy at the local cruise-ins. This truck was not built to be a show truck, though you will be able to if you like at the local show and shines. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars.
