Vehicle Detail
A relative inherited this 1964 Pontiac GTO from a distance relative who liked to restore old cars. It needs total restoration. The title is clear. If you are near the Fredericksburg, Va. area come by and inspect it. Engine block number is 0693054 YH The Engine turns with a wrench but not with the key. No bumpers Engine and transmission present. Picture of the cowl tag indicates; Style 64-2237 BodyPO 5121 Trim 214 *************************************************************************************************************** ADDITIONAL PICTURES CAN BE FOUND BY FOLLOWING THE LINK BELOW: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3Ozp7pXZ4VqSjVfcjRiUHRoTzQ&usp=sharing_eid Someone asked about the underside, so I took (tried) some video's. They are on the Google Drive link. They are as follows; BackWindow.mp4 DriverDoor.mp4 DriverSideUnderTry1.mp4 DriverSideUnderTry2.mp4 FrontWindowDriver.mp4 FrontWindowPassenger.mp4 PassengerSideDoor.mp4 PassengerSideUnder.mp4 Just want to be sure anyone thinking of bidding on the GTO knows as much as possible about the car. We did not send off for the Build Sheet, so we don't have a list of original numbers. But if I've researched correctly below the engine is a 1969 428 engine, so is not the original engine. The two websites I found some good information on are as follows; http://www.classicalpontiac.com/cgi-bin/cp/global/engine.cgi http://www.antiquecarparts.net/tech02.htm Picture (from Google Drive) DateCode_A129_20150906_111314.jpg (I renamed it) looks like a date code of A129. The last number indicates the year of the engine, so that means this engine is a 1969. Picture (from Google Drive) EngineBlockStamp_20150905_131942.jpg (I renamed it) looks like YH. The antiquecarparts.net website indicates that a 1969 engine with a engine code of YH is a 428. This assumes I've interpreted the websites correctly. Thanks for your interest On Sep-15-15 at 17:49:37 PDT, seller added the following information: ************************************************************************************* 9/15/2015 - I added pictures and a video of the hood to the google drive link, https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3Ozp7pXZ4VqSjVfcjRiUHRoTzQ&usp=sharing_eid Any file in the google drive folder (accessed by clicking on the link) that ends in ".mp4" is a video. Please play it. I think it's a great way to see the details of the car. Someone asked about the inside of the trunk and we realized we don't have a key. We will drill it out tomorrow so we can take pictures of the inside of the trunk. We do have a key for he ignition. On Sep-16-15 at 16:19:01 PDT, seller added the following information: ************************************************************************************* 9/16/2015: I added more video's and pictures of the trunk. My husband drilled it out because we only have the ignition key. The trunk pan IS SHOT. PLEASE view the video at the following link (same as in item description) https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3Ozp7pXZ4VqSjVfcjRiUHRoTzQ&usp=sharing_eid In summary; Trunk pans and floor pans are SHOT. Frame seems to be in descent shape. Rust in various places. Windshield has the tint at the top like the option code indicates it should on the COWL tag. The engine is a 1969 428 assuming we are interpreting the Engine Code and Date Code correctly. There is no air cleaner present. The engine turns with a wrench but not the key (doesn't seem to be seized).
