Vehicle Detail
This 2 owner car has an interesting history. It started it's life in Southern California. First owner was a woman, who sold the car to the second owner in the early 80's. He drove the car daily until around 1986 and kept meticulous records. Car was last registered in CA in 1986. In the early '90 the owner relocated to Seattle area, brought the car along and continued keeping it garaged. Fast forward 20+ years, he sold the car to me. The car was still completely original, rust and damage free and unmolested. It wasn't a cheap buy. During the last 2 years the car underwent comprehensive cosmetic restoration with fine attention to detail. The body is completely straight, free of rust, chips, scratches, etc. refinished in correct original Rossa Corsa red. In some of the pictures reflections of the cloudy sky make the paint look imperfect, so I tried to take many pictures at different angles for a better view. Please see 80 pictures below. Interior is new, except rubber matting, which is all original and in good condition. All exterior stainless trim and badging are original and in very good condition. Correct Cibie headlights and Carello headlight covers. New convertible top is high end canvas with padded quarters. Rare original Duetto hardtop is also available. It is black in color and is in good condition, but could use new front and rear seals. Mechanically the car is very sound. Low mileage original engine is great, it starts right up every time, sounds wonderful, doesn' leak any oil and has clean exhaust. Compression is 180PSI all across. Clutch is strong. Transmission shifts like new. Tires are correct skinny type, which aren't easy to find these days, but are worth the effort, as they preserve the wonderful original look and feel of the car. All 4 tires are new. Spare in the trunk is the original Michelin. Brakes are rebuilt. Suspension is original, except Koni shocks have been fitted. Handbrake will need attention. Radio isn't connected (no speakers). Clean rust free original undercarriage is unrestored. Spare original passenger side mirror in un-installed but included. I didn't have the heart to drill into the door. The Duetto body style with the desirable 1750 engine with fuel injection was sold only for one year: 1969. I don't think they sold many of them. This vintage toy will be a sound investment. It is a pleasure to drive and own. With all due respect, please be considerate of my time and effort. Please only bid if you are serious and able to complete the transaction according to the auction terms. I welcome and recommend a pre-purchase inspection before the auction end. Please understand that there are always little things to be done to an old car, and this one is no exception. You should inspect the vehicle prior to bidding to ensure it is to your satisfaction. Please do so, or send your agent. Vehicle is being sold with clear title, ready for ownership transfer or export. If you need a shipping quote, please ask. Bidders with low or negative feedback, please email your phone number, otherwise your bid will be cancelled.
