Vehicle Detail
1967 Chevy Impala SS Convertible Barn Find – Restoration Project Car This is a real SS 396 (325 horsepower L35) all matching numbers motor, turbo 400 transmission, 12 bolt rear end. The paint is 100% original. It is a 2 owner vehicle with 124,017 miles. It has factory power windows, power steering, tachometer, console and power top. The top will go up or down manually with ease but does not work electrically. The convertible top frame is in great shape, no bends etc., but the top will need a new vinyl cover. I do have the original glass rear window that will be included with the sale. The interior will need to be redone, but is all there. The car has a solid frame surface and solid inner and outer rockers, trunk lid, doors, floor braces, and trunk with the exception of two small patches by the wheel wells. It has solid quarter drop offs. The floor is rust-free; except for the front passenger floor pan will need to be replaced, due to a 1 inch hole under the corner of the front windshield where water roted away the floor. The car needs patches on the front fender bottoms near the doors. The car needs a passenger side front wheel well. The hood is arrow straight, but has some rot on the front lip. All glass is original and in great shape. The windshield wipers and headlights work. The car runs nice with it’s factory carburetor, alternator, and original starter. Since the vehicle was taken off the road in 1985, I had the fuel tank dropped, cleaned, and re-installed, and now the car runs. It is very loud, due to holes in the headers. I have the original exhaust manifolds as well, and will include in the sale. I don’t have the original air cleaner or SS hub caps. I have replaced all the brake components, including the master cylinder, rotors, brake shoes, spring kits, wheel cylinders, etc. The bumpers will need to be re-chromed, but they would be good cores. All the trim is present and in very good shape. The car also wears its’ original water pump, radiator, canister oil filter container, AC Delco breather cap, master cylinder, belts, points distributor, carburetor, etc. This vehicle is completely untouched, with the exception of the headers added in the seventies, but has stock manifolds. The car is being sold with a Bill of Sale only, as the State of Massachusetts did not issue titles when the car was new. The car was sold new by Zabriskie Chevrolet in Patterson, NJ. This is a very high dollar vehicle when properly restored by a savvy buyer, especially with the matching numbers. Please bid to win this excellent project car, you won’t find another gem in the rough like this!!! Obviously, this is a project restoration car and will NOT pass current state inspections. All Deposits are non-refundable. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged before bidding not after. This is a restoration project car with huge upside potential. Thank You
