1999 Ford (factory) Ranger EV Between 1998 and 2001 Ford built 1500 of these all electric trucks. This one was recently upgraded with two modern battery packs from a Chevy Volt, which reduced the weight about 1000 pounds, and increased the range to 60+ miles. An improved charger, updated battery management system and J1772 plug were installed at the same time. It has air conditioning, power steering, radio, heater, power locks, alloy wheels, and new Michelin tires.
