Just follow this super cool classic "beach wagon". A 1957 Chevrolet 210 Townsman Wagon that has been the obsession of a local artist here in Sarasota FL for the last few years. We have some famous stretches of beach here in the Sarasota area. This Rat-Rod belongs on the beach or in the lobby of a Tommy Bahama's Restaurant. If you enjoy the leisurely lifestyle described in Jimmy Buffet's song "Magaritaville". Of course anyone can see the resemblance of the 210 model to the famous Chevy Bel-Air Nomad and station wagon models. The look is unmistakable and is what comes to mind when imagining the American Classic Cars of the 1950's. The exterior was refinished years ago in the turquoise color that coat of paint is not perfect but is holding up nicely and still gives the exterior a shiny, finished look. The exterior has retained factory original settings. The interior, on the other hand, became the blank canvas for this artist when he began re-doing the car. The controls, dash, gauge cluster, etc. were restored to original configuration but the rest of the interior was seen as an area open to the artist's creative expression. As you can see it has a custom interior with seats made from skate boards and surf boards. Bamboo beams were used as support hardware and there is a very nice mural featuring the shark star of the Movie "Jaws". It has beach blankets for door panels and a nice surf board mounted on a roof rack. The wheels are aftermarket current rat rod style wheels and tires are all new. The car runs and drives great. The running gear features a 350ci V8 5.7 liter engine, a 3 speed automatic TH350 transmission and the original rear end. The lights and blinkers are working well and it has been used to bounce around town with for a couple years now with no issues. It's dependable and reliable old classic driver that people just love when they see it out and about.
