1970 Honda CT

This is a Honda CT70 KO that I just finished restoring. Everything on this CT has been rebuilt, restored, or replaced with the exception of the speedometer. I got it out of a farm field last October where it had been sitting for the past 35 years. The frame, swing arm, triple tree and chain guard were soda blasted and hand sanded to bare metal, then primed with an epoxy primer. Paint is a single stage metallic blue urethane which was the closest I could find to the original candy sapphire blue. Decals are new reproductions, but side badges are original. Wiring harness, ignition switch, horn, headlight, tail light, stator, ignition coil, rectifier, battery and all switches are brand new. Battery was replaced with a sealed lead acid battery. Tires, tubes and wheels are brand new. Tires are Bridgestone Trail Wings. Engine and transmission were totally rebuilt with new piston, rings, cylinder, head, cam, valves, gear cluster, shift drum and forks, clutch discs, oil pump, oil screen, all new gaskets and seals, and new points and condenser. Carburetor is a brand new repro from CHP. Fenders, seat, handlebars, grips, passenger pegs, exhaust, shocks, fork extensions, levers etc. are all brand new. Speedometer is original and was not restored. It works as it should, and is the patina I chose to keep on the bike as a reminder that it is 45 years old. The engine runs like a Swiss watch and starts on the first or second kick. Frame serial number is CT70 208240, engine serial number is CT70E 207957. The neck tube label is missing so I am estimating the build year at 1970 as the VIN is a few thousand points lower than other CT's I have built in 2/71. Over $4000.00 invested in parts and materials.
