Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a beautiful 1969 Rally Sport Camaro. The 69 RS Camaros are arguably one of the best looking and most sought after cars to come out of the muscle car era. Finished in a beautiful bright red paint with the iconic hockey stick stripes, this car turns heads everywhere it goes. You can't stop for gas without a small crowd forming around the car, and you can literally watch people take pictures with their phones as you drive by. You can't help but feel cool as you drive this car, and it truly is a pleasure to drive. The body of the car is straight with nice crisp body lines. All the body panels are aligned properly with nice gaps. The car features a 2” steel cowl induction hood and the original short early production rear spoiler. The paint has a nice deep shine that is very slick. Most of the exterior trim is new including : front and rear bumpers, mirrors, door handles, quarter louvers, window felts, quarter window molding, wheel well molding, rocker molding, reverse light housings, grill surround molding, wiper arms, marker light bezels, and all new emblems. The window molding and drip rail molding is original and has been professionally polished to a mirror shine. All weatherstripping and seals are new throughout the car. The front hideaway headlights have been upgraded from vacuum to electric for more reliable operation. The headlight doors operate flawlessly and work off the factory headlight switch. There are no extra switches or buttons to push. The undercarriage is also very clean with no signs of rust or patch work in the floor, trunk pan, or frame rails. The interior is in great shape. The seats have been reupholstered with new foam and look and feel great. Brand new front and rear door panels. The headliner, sail panels, rear package tray, sun visors, dash pad, carpet, and sill plates are also new. The car features a factory console with the horse shoe floor shifter. A custom built gauge pod has been added to the console which houses sunpro voltage, coolant temp, and oil pressure gauges. A small sunpro tachometer has been mounted to the steering column. All lights and gauges are working properly as well as the horn. Under the hood is a rebuilt 327 small block. This is not the original engine, but it is a 69 dated block. The engine features a mild cam, Edlebrock performer rpm manifold, HEI ignition, and a new Holley street avenger 670cfm carb with electric choke. The engine runs great with plenty of power. It pulls stong and will easily smoke the tires. A high torque gear reduction mini starter fires the motor right up. The engine also features a number of dress up items including: A set of chrome plated aluminum valve covers, billet aluminum pulleys and accessory brackets, stainless steel braided hoses, new 100 amp chrome alternator, and a high flow air filter. The engine breaths through a set of ceramic coated headers and a 2.5” dual exhaust with a crossover pipe and a pair of Dynomax super turbo mufflers. All the wiring under the hood is very neat and hardly visible for a clean look. The spark plug wires are run underneath the headers with custom wire holders. The headlights have been upgraded to a relay system for better performance. Keeping the engine cool is a new aluminum radiator with a custom built aluminum fan shroud and a Hayden electric fan with a adjustable thermostat. Finally a custom set of filler panels were made to fill in the gap between the radiator support and header panel. Behind the engine is a TH350 transmission with a shift kit. The shifts are firm and quick, but not harsh. Transmission cooler lines are new. The entire brake system has been replaced including: master cylinder, proportioning valve, hoses, rebuilt front calipers, rotors and pads, rear drums, shoes, hardware, and wheel cylinders. Parking brake cables are also all new. All brake and fuel lines have been replaced with poly armor coated steel lines with the correct spring shielding. The lines are nicely bent and fit excellent. The fuel tank and sending unit are new. The suspension was gone through and anything that needed to be replaced was. New shocks front and rear. New U joints in the drive shaft. Putting power to the ground is a 8.5” 10 bolt posi rear with 3.08 gears. The car rolls on a nicely refinished set of 15” rally wheels with new trim rings and a set of BF Goodrich tires with at least 75% tread remaining. The Camaro is equipped with factory power steering and power disc brakes. The car has good road manners. It handles well, goes straight down the road, and stops straight. The car runs on regular pump gas. Everything works as it should. Overall it's a very good running and driving classic car. I have described the car to the best of my abilities. I may have overlooked or missed something. This car has been driven, there may be a few minor imperfections here and there. Please view all photos.
