Up for auction is a nice, tight, low-mileage Mercury Cougar originally built and sold in California. The car has a 289-V8, 2 barrel with a C-4 automatic that shows 47,249 miles. I have no documentation to prove the miles, but from messing with collector vehicles my whole life it certainly appears to be correct with the original ball joints and other suspension parts, tight door bushings and overall tightness when you drive the car. The car was purchased as a very base car with about the only option I can see is the V-8 engine, and auto trans. The car drives out real nice, and has recently been treated to a new dual exhaust system, and total brake job with new wheel cylinders and shocks. The only rust issues I can find is the bubbling at the bottom corner of the rear window and right in the rear of the drivers side rear wheel well. The floor pans and trunk look real nice except for 2 small places that look completely out of place on this car, possibly from leaking window seals. One is in front drivers foot well, about 1X1" size, and another in the passenger rear foot well about 5X5" that is still in place, but soft. An easy fix. All electrical components on the car work as they should, sequential taillights, vacuum headlights, interior lights, everything. The picture should tell the rest of the story.
