We bought this 1949 Chevrolet a while back through a collector car auction. At the time we got it, I had every intention of just selling it right away and turning the cash. Then I made the mistake of driving it... This car runs like brand new. It is in fantastic shape (as you can see in the photos) and makes a fabulous daily driver... We drive the car almost every day... Keep in mind, this is not a show car. It's driver quality, extremely road worthy and unbelievably dependable. I've never even had to pull the choke out to start it when its ice cold. Clutch is great, transmission shifts like butter, headlights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals all work perfectly. The car runs down the highway at 60 miles per hour straight as a string.. The paint looks like it was done many years ago and is still in pretty decent shape. From 10 feet away the car is beautiful. Every place we take the old Chevy someone stops us to take a look at it. It draws a crowd every time we park it. We were just approached two days ago to use the car in an upcoming parade. The interior is in very nice condition. All of the gauges work perfectly, including the gas gauge. The system is the original 6 volt and the battery is new. We have receipts for most of the work that was done, including one totaling $4724.00 for the new motor. We have the original owners manual and both sets of keys. If you are looking for a car that really needs nothing, this is it. You can buy it, enjoy it and not have to spend a ton of money fixing all the stuff that is usually wrong with old cars. Someone took extremely good care of this wonderful classic and I know whoever wins the auction is going to love it.. We are a licensed dealer here in northern California, so, if the winning bidder resides her in California as well, he/she will be required to pay sales tax and license at the time the car is picked up. If the winning bidder resides outside of California, he/she will be required to pay all fees and taxes to the local DMV at the town the vehicle is to be registered in.. As several ebay members have pointed out to me, the Coupe is a lot more desirable car. This 49 Chevy has the sliding rear windows.. Sorry for the mix-up, no misrepresentation intended...
