Vehicle Detail

This Moke was built in Australia in 1974 and has a clear South Carolina title. It is not a trailer queen, but could best be described as a solid very good quality driver. The body had been repaired and all rusted panels replaced by the prior owner. He painted the car a bright lime green with black rhino liner type interior and engine compartment. He then ran out of money or interest or both, and I bought the car as a non-running project in 2012. During the following year, all of the systems were refurbished, with the goal of having a reliable and fun weekend car. Highlights of the car include: A 998cc A+ engine with hardened valve seats so it runs on unleaded regular gasoline. Plenty of power, and it carries 4 adults with ease. New tires on powder coated Sunraysia wheels. All wiring, lights, and switches were sorted out and most replaced. The entire suspension was replaced including high-lo adjustable struts, new hubs, bearings, CV-joints, shocks, and bushings. The carburetor was rebuilt and an electric fuel pump was installed. The clutch master and slave cylinders were replaced with new. New electronic ignition and full gauges (water temperature, ammeter, oil pressure, and tachometer) Upgraded cooling system with high capacity aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan. Complete new brake system including an upgrade from the old drum brakes to 8" front disc brakes. New upholstery and seat belts on rare "deck-chair" style seats. It is outfitted with a detachable tow bar and lights, so it can be safely towed to distant shows. Everything on the car works properly, and it is a ball to drive. It has proven to be a huge hit at local car shows. If interested, please contact: Mark Bennett markdebzac@earthlink.net (843) 697-5101
