Vehicle Detail

1992 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER - FJ80 Rebuilt 4.0 I6 -EFI - Transmission - Front & Rear Axle - Transfer Case - Thule - Ect..... NO RESERVE Thank You for checking out my 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser J80, also referred to as the FJ80. This is a very nice rig, that has not been off road, was mildly restored about 7 years ago, it has been adult owned, and cared for. It was repainted a few years ago, excellent body, no rust currently, no bubbles, excellent rockers, frame and floors, and no previous rust repairs or accidents, took photos underneath, very clean. Very solid body in amazing condition, considering it is almost 25 years old, a true classic. This body style is the last of the highly desirable vintage looking Land Cruisers, on top of that, they are the best of both worlds, great off road rigs, with bullet proof suspension and running gear, but give you those creature comforts we all enjoy on a day to day basis. This is the last of the classic looking FJ's, that still have that off road look and off road usability, they built these from 1992-97, it has the 4.0 EFI inline 6, AT, 4WD, AC –Blows Ice Cold, Power Windows, Power-locks, Power Sunroof, Seats 7, Pioneer AM/FM CD. This will make someone a great everyday driver, weekend cruiser or if you got a vacation home great vehicle for those times. I normally deal in classic vehicles, but love Utilitarian type rig like the Rovers, and Land Cruisers. I bought this from a gentleman that I met a while ago, started admiring this J80. He eventually wanted to buy his wife a new car, and I said when your ready, sell me the Land Cruiser, so eventually he did, he put a lot of time in it, he and his wife loved this rig, but with a growing family, it was time to turn it loose. I only buy what I like, rigs that I wouldn’t mind driving around myself, and yes, this vehicle meets that criteria, and yes, I love to drive this FJ. I get to love each rig one at a time, that is the great thing about doing what I do. Please check out the photos, inside and out, it is a nice Land Cruiser, a very nice clean example, with awesome upgrades. Mechanically it is in great shape major components rebuilt in the last 30K, the body has 240K on it. But the major components have been rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt around 2008, with 201K on it at the time. It was rebuilt by Oregon Engine builders, and now has about 30K on it. The transmission was rebuilt in the last 6 months, by the Toy Doctor, the local Toyota Guru Shop when it comes to these rigs, who also has rebuilt other items on it, like the front and rear Axle. I have lots of receipts for it, I don't have the engine rebuild receipt, I do have the Oregon Rebuilders warranty sheet, and a receipt stating the rebuild. I also am trying to get the trans receipt as well for it, the previous owner missed placed it. The engine starts right up, it does not blow smoke, no exhaust leaks, very smooth running. All the fluids look good, no concerns there. The AT transmission shifts nicely, no u-joint noise, everything seems real tight and in order. Front axle and rear axle, look good, no signs or any issues, no noises or whining. 4x4 High and Low works, very smooth, high and low. In these years, Toyota Land Cruisers were AWD. If you wanted to upgrade the front hubs you could do that, and make them Mechanical pretty easily to lock them in and out. Mechanically I think this Land Cruiser is in pretty good shape. I would suggest routine maintenance on it for the years to come, these are rock solid rigs, easy to work on, and just a true joy to own. The brakes are in good shape , it does not pull, or chatter, very smooth. Because it does have oversized tires on it, it does wonder a bit, it goes with the nature of the beast. It has 20" Chrome wheels on it, they look nice, when you get close you see some pitting on them, but they look nice. You may in the future want to change the look, and paint them black like a lot of guys do with Plasti-Dip, I have done it before and they look nice and give it another look. The tires are in excellent condition Toyo M/T Open Country Sport, LT 35x12.5/20 LT, with about 97% tread, and yes you can hear them while driving, the typical hum, it goes with the territory. No uneven wear on them, they are very quiet out on the highway. I am not sure how high the lift is, maybe 4"-5", the tops of fender opening, are around 40-41" front an back. Spare tire is also included as well, as you can see it underneath. If you look underneath, you can see it still has its factory exhaust still on it, seems to be in good shape, no exhaust leaks, in good condition. The frame is in really nice condition, no rust issues, the floor boards excellent no rust, or damage. No oil leaks on the ground, nothing no drips on the ground after you drive it. From underneath you can tell this rig has spent most of its life on the highway for sure. The body is in very nice condition, no rust issues, no bubbles, or previous rust repairs. No signs of any accidents, inside the wheel wells, inner fender aprons are in very nice condition. These rigs from the factory the metallic paint usually suffered clear coat issues after time. So they decided to have it resprayed the original Dark Grey Metallic, and they a great job, no orange peel, very clean, nice and glossy, all the panels match up nicely. The light bar, front and rear bumpers have all been repainted the same color and match. It looks very nice, outside it looks suburb, when I pull up at the store, or around town somewhere, someone always mentions, wow what a nice old land cruiser. There are a few rocks chips, but no major ones, just from being driven, they could be touched up easily if you wanted, nothing that really stands out, it is a 25 year old vehicle, that has been driven. The paint is nice and glossy, looks great. When you look down the sides, laser straight, no dings, panels all like up very nice. This is an excellent driver, could show it if you like, I would still park it out way out in a parking lot though. The grill is nice, no broken areas like you commonly see. Some of the chrome on the top edge or grill is starting delaminate a little, so it has little wrinkles on the top edge of grill see pictures. All the exterior lights are working, turn signals, brakes, KC lights are new. The windows have been tinted, there is a little small scratches on the film in the inside just from use, but on the outside they look great, just older tint, you could re-tint if you wanted down the road, the have purpled a little. The glass is in great shape, I had a new windshield put in it, it had a couple chips in it, so I decided instead of fill them, have a nice clean windshield. Interior is in very nice condition. All of the seats have been redone, nice material, they look really nice being TuTone, very little wear they were redone in 2009. It smells pleasant inside, non smoker, no rips or tears, no stains in the seats. The carpet looks nice, some wear in the rear from hauling items. The third row seats can be removed or attached to the sides, the straps are worn, and one is broken, but usable. All the padding is in great shape, the seats are very comfortable. The door panels are in excellent shape, The headliner is very nice, no stains, no rips, dome lights works. The windows and door glass, is all in good shape, no cracks. No leaks on the inside, stays nice and dry. All the gauges are working, you can see it has been upgraded with a AM/FM CD player, the power antenna, goes up and down a little, but will not fully extend, will need a new one down the road. The dash pad does have some cracks in it, pretty common, dash pad cover would be a nice add, they run around $70-80. Overall the interior is very clean for its age. It does have an alarm, but I think it is disengaged, I have a remote, but nothing happens, batteries may be out, not sure. The windows are power and roll up and down with ease. The only thing not working inside is the cruise control. The differential lock button for 4x4 works, shows up on instrument cluster. The upper map light works, but the dome light is not coming on, need to take a look, I might be able to fix it, but not sure. No check engine lights. Windshield wipers, horn all work. It has factory AC, and it does blow Ice Cold. Heater works as well.
