Here is my beloved 1960 Vespa 400 Deluxe European Microcar being made available to the highest bidder. The lack of storage as well as the need to finish other projects forces me to make this available for someone else to own and enjoy. The vehicle runs and drives as it should. The lights, windshield wipers, turn signals, and even the heat works, which is rare for these cars. The brakes stop the car but probably should be gone through before they are trusted. The car is legally tagged, although I would caution anyone from driving it on any high speed drives. It is better suited for 35/40 mph and does well on beach roads, in small towns, etc. It attracts a lot of attention, everywhere you park it you will find crowds of curious folks asking questions and taking pictures. The condition of the body is fair and even though it looks decent it will need some metal work and a paint job eventually as it is showing some bubbling and chipping around the headlights, rocker panels, and around the fender wells. I've tried to show this in the pictures. It has a three speed standard transmission with un-synchronized 1st gear, meaning you have to come to a complete stop before shifting back to first. The tires are in excellent condition and I had the speedometer reconditioned through Palo Alto and it did work until I had to change the transmission and kinked the cable, I just never got around to replacing it. This car has been a lot of fun, I've trailered it all over the East coast to Microcar meets in Madison GA, Cape May NJ, Knoxville TN, Lake Mary FL, and I really hate to let it go but I have a Goggomobile Limo and a Subaru Van I want to finish and I need the money and room to do so. This car is sold as is with no warranties suggested or implied all sales are final. It is recommended that the buyer either trailer the vehicle or arrange shipping as I will not be involved in shipping. I will, however, be glad to assist in the loading at my residence. The buyer will make a down payment of $500.00 through Paypal immediately after sale ends. The remaining balance paid in cash or by PayPal within a 7 day period after the sale. The vehicle should be picked up within 15 days or contact me to make arrangements if additional time is needed.
