Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car for approximately 3 years and have loved it. I have been blessed with a wife and beautiful first child so my time to enjoy my Porsche is essentially non-existent now and I don’t want to just leave my Porsche un-driven in the garage, so here it is for sale. This is the first year of the G50 transmission along with the 3.2L engine with the Carrera chain tensioners. Many would consider this the last body style of the classic Porsche 911s! The average price for a 1987 Porsche 911 as per Hagerty Insurance’s vehicle valuation tool is $30,228. Here is your chance to get into this classic for well under the average market value! https://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vbe=115593 The good: -Almost all original, the only modifications I am aware of are: an aftermarket radio, 1990s vintage Nokia hands free cell phone set up and an aftermarket steering wheel (I can swap this out for the original if preferred by the buyer) -A great driving example of this vintage, this car has been described as driving very much like one would have when new from the factory -The black exterior on Ox Blood red interior is quite unique and gets compliments from anyone who sees it The Bad: -The turn signal stalk needs replacement as the signals are not working, I believe this is causing one of the parking lights to stay on intermittently -The head light bulbs need replacing, this is a minor thing, but last time I drove the car one of the lights burned out -The engine has a broken head stud, it runs and drives well, currently, but I do not want to push my luck. This was found during a PPI that was performed this Spring.-The odometer stopped working earlier this year, but the car has been driven less than 1,000 miles since the odometer stopped working-The driver's side door lock was acting up the last time I drove the car, but had been working well up to that point Please keep in mind that this is a 25 year old loved and driven example of a 911, therefore it is not a concurs winner, but an excellent driver that turns heads wherever it goes. I had a buyer lined up earlier this year but we were unable to come to an agreement. However, please see the pictures for the results of the PPI that he had performed. The air conditioning works but looses charge over time, currently it is in need of a recharge. I was hoping to address this if I did the head stud, but currently do not have the time to address it. I am happy to share any of the information on the car that I can, as well as answer any questions to the best of my ability. I have easily a hundred pages worth of maintenance history dating back to the early 1990’s that I am happy to share as best as possible. Additionally, I have several pictures beyond those posted that I can share. Please email me for any questions. If anyone would like an additional PPI performed, please reach out to me as I will do my best to make arrangements. As I said prior, at this point, I am unable to enjoy the car and would rather see it find a good home than have it sit and not be able to enjoy it as much as I would like to. Here are some of the basic specs for this classic (as per Hemmings): Engine: Air-cooled flat-six, 3,164cc Layout: Rear engine, rear-wheel drive Horsepower: 217 @ 5,900 RPM (1987-1989) Torque: 265-lbs.ft. @ 4,800 RPM Maximum speed: 146 MPH 0-60 mph: 6.2 seconds Curb weight: 2,750 pounds
