Hear is my one of a kind 1946 GMC 4x4. I have taken a 46 2 ton cab and mounted it to a 73 Chevy K/10 4x4 truck. A few years ago I began doing a frame off restoration on my K/10. I purchased a brand new Chevy crate engine rated at 330hp, and hade the trans and transfer case professionally rebuilt , and a new drive shaft made. The axels have been serviced with new gear oil, as well as a completely new brake system including calipers, pads, drums, shoes, and master cylinder. New heavy duty leaf springs were added, rated at 2200 pound payload. As you can see in the pictures, there are brand new wheels and tires, tires still have blue on the white walls. I did not post a pic, but there truck comes with a new 2.5 inch dual exhaust system with 3in tips. Other parts include, steering column, original seat, front drive shaft ( needs rebuilding or replacing, about $180), fuel tank from K/10, and other misc parts. I gave up on restoring the body of the K/10 so I scrapped the stock cab / bed, and replaced it with a 46 two ton cab. When I started there was rust around the back decorative bead, and on the door pillar. I have replaced all bad spots in the cab and all custom mounting has been completed. Prior to disassembling the stock cab, the 73 was a running truck. I test drove the truck after the restoration and drove it for about 4 mi with out any problems.
