1978 HONDA CR250R RACER FROM BACK IN THE DAY! 1978 cr250r with a 1978 new from honda never ran motor fitted with all the race parts avaible from the period. NOW,,this bike is not overly restored like alot out there,still retains some patina,like on the wheels,some parts of the frame,etc,,BUT nothing has been over looked..all parts have been cleaned/replaced/restored where needed..NOTHING has been overlooked.this bike is a time machine with ALL period correct race pieces from back in the day EXCEPT for the gas cap and bar pad,,chain and sprockets..NOS motor.not rebuilt..never ran from honda!""whats the value of that?"" the bike is ready to run if so desired,,just top off oil and add gas,,the pics don't do it justice,,, now details. as close to an original 1978 NOS Honda cr250r as u will get with great xtra's..... motor. 1978 cr250r,,motor is from southern calif,from a factory sponsered racer who recently passed,was dissassembled and was being parted out when i came across it,,the head,clutch cover and cdi was already gone when i bought ALL remaining parts which was the entire motor..its original down to the rings and clutch plates,,,BRAND NEW NEVER RAN.the cylinder does not have any wear marks because it was never ran,,gears/clutch assembly/bearings/seals/shifter/kickstarter,all brand new honda never started,original new paint on the cases and cylinder.did not use original screws because they suck,went with SS allen heads,,your welcome.,,E cdi was installed and a very nice DG head gold anodized.not paint....look at the pics,,,the clutch arm and the clutch cable holder r NOS that came with motor...the cdi screw plugs r only in hand tight so.be sure to tighten if ran,,they were removed for detail work.carb is rebuilt with all new seals/O-rings,orginal air cleaner with NOS filter.. frame, all orignal paint frame and gas tank including tank decals except for touch up done on the lower parts of frame where boots and motor are..i have an exact match paint code that i will include with purchase only.the gas tank is original beautiful... suspension. restored 12" simons forks setup for 78 honda cr250's..the brake stop is a welded anodized piece for these bikes!all new seals/wiper and o-rings.the moto x fox decal on the lower legs is straight out of the 78 moto x fox catalog.as sold.the fork compression/rebound feels very nice,,..complete right down to the turn stops with original bolts!..very nice triples.perfect fork legs.see pics. rear. original DG 78-79 aluminum swingarm with new bearings and original seal caps.(aftermarket caps dont fit worth a dam)...new chain slider with original pro-tec rebuilt chain tensioner.correct period piece.with a moto x fox? chain shock guard?its not hand made okie special.. very nice rebuilt 17 3/4" 21 fin fox airs with new seals and oil.ALSO with custom top caps 1/4" longer so as u wont have to hammer the frame to install them like all privateers had to do.all manuals say to hammer the frame to install fox airs because of the very large cylinders,,not here..VERY nice original units.13 1/4" travel front and rear...u can set up to a full 14" just like they were trying back in the day if desired..or 12" stock. wheels/tires. NOS cheng shin motocross tires front and rear period correct installed on gold anadized hallman sun wheels.front wheel could use some spoke trueing.new spokes in rear and originals front.new brakes and bearings rear/like new originals up front. outer, original very nice side plates and front plate,,VMX fenders..fenders had to be replaced because they weather fade bad...gas tank has NO dents or dings,,as close to NOS as u can get...some minor paint chips but did not want to repaint BECAUSE.u cannot match original paint and they wear very easily after a repaint...NO diassaapoints..NOS 1980 seat,,,because.a 78 seat is not avaiable this 1 was.. misc. the only thing missing is the rubber tank strap hold down that goes to the rear of the tank,,i have 2 and they r so old that they both broke.. everything is rebuilt or replaced with the best that could be found to restore this bike...the original pipe is in excellant original condition.new never ran replica moto x fox type aluminum silncer...see pics...and on and on..this bike looks just like the 1 in the famous 1979 moto x fox poster!ready to ride,,,i would recommend a complete bolt check and set up to your preference,,i did not set it up to ride,,although its good to go guaranteed.... u get what u pay for and so on...this bike has never been started ,,,great spark,,and i have no intention of putting gas in it and firing it up.i cannot bring myself to starting a time machine like this,,NOS motor,,whats the odds of that.... i was not going to ride it,just a shrine in the man cave.but plans have changed..its ready for that collection or musuem or run it.no leaks anywhere that have been found,..its your choice but u will NEVER find another 1 like this....see all pics...read everything above.....will not give it away,,,ITS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND AND WITH A BILL OF SALE,,,no pink slip...long since out of the system and the motor has never been registered because it is a factory xtra for a southern calif racer that was NEVER ran,,,NOS.not rebuilt..never ran from honda!""whats the value of that?"" . but it is good to go.. will not ship..pick up ONLY.shipping is on u...bike will not leave until funds have cleared bank and/or paypal. ..got it..there r numorous company's that will take care of shipping for u...see all pics.....bid with confidence.
