I'm selling my 2001 BMW M5. I purchased the car about a year ago when looking for something a bit more practical than my Exige. Since the launch of the e46 M3 and the e39 M5 I've loved the style of this generation BMW. These are the most iconic and recognized body styles of the marque. The e39 M5 is often referred to as "The Beast" by BMW enthusiasts, and after owning one, I understand why. The sensation of torque is incredible with this 5.0L V8. The e39 M5 has 370ft/lbs or torque making it extremely responsive to throttle input meaning "every day" usable power. Driving around town and highway driving is a dream with is M5 because the power is right where you need it. There is no need to rev this engine up to get moving because there is plenty of power between 1000 and 4000 RPM. Often times when driving I rarely even go above 3000 RPM because of all the torque available. If you do decide to open it up a bit and wind out this powerful engine, you are rewarded with Star Wars "warp drive" like performance that's sure to put a smile on anyone's face. I recently replaced all items that were worn on the vehicle in preparation to sell the car. I've been bitten by the Lotus brand bug again and I'm now looking to pick up another. Sadly I can't keep both vehicles or else I would. I will be sad to see this vehicle go as it is by far the best "German Muscle" sedan out of all the Audi's and BMW's I've owned. I have had zero reliability issues with the car. All parts replaced on the car are "typical e39" issues common to all engine types of this body style. You can buy with confidence knowing the typical issues have been corrected, I just picked the car up from Dynamic Auto Tune (authorized DINAN installer) with a clean bill of health (they also performed the maintenance), and mileage is low.
