Vehicle Detail
1985 Mercedes 300SD 5 cyl Turbo Diesel Automatic 322,xxx miles White with Red leather interior (not MBtex) Two cracks on dash and typical wear on drivers seat (see photos)Minor damage to PS front fender where it meets the door (see pics) Car is in overall nice condition. I have owned it since 2000 (15 years) and have done all the maintenance on it myself. I have a stack of receipts from when I bought the car at ~180,000 miles and all service to that point was at the dealer in west Texas. Since I have owned it I have replaced the vacuum pump, alternator, exhaust downpipe, complete AC system overhaul (R12, blows cold) and transmission cooler lines in addition to normal items like oil/battery/tires/suspension wear parts. In addition to that I have added a Euro front bumper and real Euro headlights. It has been a third vehicle for my family for a couple of years and has not been driven much lately. When driving home Thursday I stopped at a red light in Godley and when I took off the car would not shift past first. It was shifting fine before this so I have no idea what is wrong with it. It could be something easy or it could be a major problem. The car's gear selector shifts through all other gears fine. It will go into park, reverse and drive, but just won't shift out of first while in drive. At this point it is not financially viable for me to put much money into fixing it and I would like to pass it on to someone who will. Car should be towed, unless you don't mind driving 10mph on the way home in first. It can be driven up on a trailer no problem.
