Vehicle Detail

(In case you cannot see it, I have a perfect (100%) feedback score for 30 transactions on EBAY - they are working on fixing it to make sure it shows)A careful and complete reading of the following information is important for an accurate assessment of this vehicle. Up for sale is a very clean and nicely detailed and original 1985 Chevy K10 Silverado. A short bed 4x4 with 109,000 original miles (the odometer only registers 99,999 - so, for purposes of accuracy and full disclosure, the mileage is based on trust of what I was told but not a function of verifiable proof from odometer reading - the condition does support the mileage). It comes factory equipped with a G80 Locking Differential and, of course, a towing package. It also has power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, A/C, factory analog clock, auxiliary fuel tank, locking hubs, and factory chrome bumper guards (see new equipment detail below). Note: Catalytic Convertors were removed by a previous owner and not replaced. Passed Texas safety inspection but cats (I think) are required in possibly every state. It was fortunate that a check for these was not made during the Texas safety inspection. Replacing them was on my "to do" list but things changed. I think parts and labor are around $200 - $300 out the door. Note: My previous BUY NOW price on a fixed price best offer auction was - $12,950 - and that was taking a loss - so, the new and much lower BUY NOW obviously represents a loss but I wish to sell the truck. All one needs to do to assess the bargain the current BUY NOW price represents is run a few numbers and make anywhere close to a WAG and conclude that the investment(s) in the truck plus the truck itself show it is a steal at this price. The body of the truck is extremely straight (see pictures) only having minor dents in various locations and is absolutely rust-free. The truck was painted several years ago in the original Midnight Blue color and still shines brightly but as shown in the pictures, has some common, yet minor chipping on the lower doors and rockers as well as the hood. The truck is lifted 4 inches and sits on 15x10 American Racing wheels (perfect shape – see pictures) with 33x12.50x15 BF-Goodrich Mud Terrains. The truck is also equipped with a quick-disconnect front sway bar for off-roading and a frame cross member brace to prevent frame sag which many lifted trucks of this body style incur. By the way, the height of the truck is about 6’6” which fits easily in a 7’ garage! The interior is in very good shape and it really shows (again, see pictures). All the lights work inside and out as do all the controls, etc. In fact, over $3,000 was spent by the previous owner from whom I purchased this truck less than two months back! All of the items listed below per previous owner were added within the last 3,000 miles. I have looked at several things and see nothing to indicate to the contrary that the work was not performed as stated by the previous owner. In short, I do not have receipts for work by previous owner but a picture is worth.... As can be noted by the following, the previous owner invested heavily in both restoration and mechanical parts including, but not being limited to: · New front rotors, calipers, pads, · wheel bearings and seals, · rear wheel cylinders, · rear brake shoes, · front and rear drivelines, · rear pinion shaft seal, radiator, · hoses, water pump, · Edelbrock carburetor · A brand new dash installed along with brand new chrome body side moldings, · A brand new windshield, · A top of the line LINE-X bed-liner. · The original 700R4 overdrive transmission is mated to a relatively new and quite healthy 350 Chevy with 4 bolt mains. 350 CI engine verified 100% even though build sheet shows a 305 CI engine. · The previous owner stipulated that the oil was changed every 3,000 miles with Synthetic Amsoil 10/30. Since I have owned the truck, I also have made substantive improvements to this classic vehicle. The following systems, parts and/or processes have been performed on the truck within the last 300 miles – and all things performed or replaced were professionally installed and only factory equivalent or better (new – not re-built) parts were used. There are verifiable invoices available showing work performed per all of the following!! Power Steering System Completely Restored to New · Power Steering Pump Replaced · Power Steering Pressure Hose Replaced · Power Steering Return Hose Replaced Entire A/C System replaced and Converted from R12 to R134A · A/C Caps/Valve Core Conversion Kit New · A/C Compressor with Clutch New · Accumulator/Receiver Drier New · Orifice Tube New · Condensor New · Adapter New · Manifold Hose New · Evacuate and Recharge A/C System Ignition Improvements and Other · Distributor Cap Replaced · Rotor, Ignition Module & Coil Replaced · Spark Plugs Replaced · Timing Chain Slack checked (no more than 2 degrees off – which is exceptional) Miscellaneous Improvements • Windshield Wiper Motor Replaced • Preheat Tube in Exhaust Manifold Added · Safety Flasher Replaced • Bull Ring Stake Pocket Tie-downs (see picture 2 right below “bowtie” on bedrail) Per all repairs and improvements above, all new Belts and Hoses were, of course, installed As anyone can tell from what has been done to improve and/or restore the real “guts” of this exceptional truck, it has to qualify as one of the cleanest, most roadworthy trucks of the “classic” era one can find today. Last but not least, included (free of charge) in the sale is the original Quadrajet carburetor and a full set of original 15x8 Chevrolet rally wheels. As easily determined given the exhaustive list of improvements noted above, the “heavy lifting” on this truck is just about complete. All that is left is relatively cosmetic and/or minor in scope. I know I will be asked – why are you selling it, especially after buying such a nice truck and then adding even more refinements/improvements? – The simple and honest answer is that this truck was purchased for my son who is now headed in a completely different direction and this vehicle will not fit his needs. He is heartbroken but understands that the timing for some things does not fit the situation. And, I cannot afford to just keep the truck around for the “right time” or as a “toy” of sorts. Note on Shipping: - I had this truck shipped from Northern Idaho to Midland Texas (about 1700 miles) - Cost was about $850 - but not through the EBAY shipper - If shipping is necessary, I will be happy to provide name of broker who handled shipping arrangements - It was delivered in two days!! If any questions remain, call 432-294-1769 at a reasonable time - CDT.
