Having poured $5,000 into resurrecting this car in 2006, I had planned on re-ringing it two years ago. But I have 5 cars for 4 drivers and work nonstop. If you have the time, you benefit. I believe that I am the third owner, it having sat on the back lot of a mechanic (second owner) for over a decade with only 71k miles on the odometer. In 2006 at 71k miles I paid professionals to replace the fuel injection pump, injectors, glow-plugs and relay, added a custom (GTI retrofit) exhaust for better mid and high-end power, had the transmission linkage rebuilt, put in a new clutch and pressure plate, new brakes (replaced again recently) and new (salvaged) struts. More recently: new water pump and alternator, Infiniti speakers. Now at 116k miles. Includes for a rebuild: set of engine gaskets and a Bentley (the best) Service Manual. Low compression means that it does not start from the key but did start when towed at 30 mph. (Crazy mechanic) Body: oxidized 2010 repaint over wobbles, dents, putty and rust underneath now peaking through. Hail damage on top sides. Needs driver's side floor board (rusted through) See pics.
