Vehicle Detail

1976 Triumph Bonneville 750 This is a very nice and very original 1976 Triumph 750 Bonneville. This bike runs great and starts on the first kick every time. It is very clean and nothing appears to be altered or molested from original specification. The gas tank appears to be repainted in the original colors and it looks great. The bike has 9392 original miles. This bike belonged to an older, retired neighbor and was parked in 2009 after he had a hip surgery and could no longer kick start the bike. I bought the bike last year and got it in good running condition and it is now ready for the warm weather. The bike has new tires and tubes (Dunlops), rebuilt brakes, new PWK carburetors, a new battery, and the gearbox was rebuilt by Glenn at Conard Schultz's shop in Knoxville over the winter. This is a great riding bike and it looks very nice. It could use a good detailing to brighten it up more, but it's very nice as is. The seat foam is original and a bit soft for me and the bike does weep a small amount of oil from the rocker boxes, but I haven't noticed any leaks. Everything works on this bike including all of the electrics. There are some imperfections in the chrome on the rear fender between the frame and the tail light. It does not appear to be oxidation, but there is some texturing to the chrome in that area. It's pretty minor, and I couldn't get it to show up well in the photographs. It is noticeable, but not obvious when looking at the bike. There is also a ding in the left head pipe of the exhaust. This is the first year of the Meriden Co-op bikes, and in some ways is the best year for the 750 Bonneville. '76 has disc brakes, left side shift, many small improvements, but retains the older side covers, headlight and front fender mounts. This bike runs and rides great, stops well, and has plenty of speed and power to offer. It handles well on the road and the swingarm bearings are tight. There is oxidation here and there on the bike and it really could use a good detailing for a show bike shine. Local inspection is welcome and encouraged. I've done my best to describe this motorcycle accurately, but I'm certain to miss details. Please review the photos well and feel free to contact me with specific questions or if you need specific photos that aren't included in the ad. Any and all shipping arrangements and cost will be the responsibility of the winning bidder. I'm happy to help load the motorcycle and will work with the shipper in regards to logistics.
