1979 Porsche 911SC - 100+ Photos NO RESERVE - 106K - AUCTION ENDS EASTER!!!Thank you for checking out my 1979 Porsche 911SC Coupe. This is a beautiful and honest 911SC, that anyone would be very proud to own. It has its Matching #'s Original 3.0L Engine #6291754 with Original Gearbox #7196841. This Porsche is now 36 years old, a true classic, with only 106k on the odometer, which as you know is very low for any vehicle this vintage. I took a lot of photos, so please take your time and study them. You will see very clean inner aprons and very clean floors. This car is a nice example of a 911SC. It has never been in an accident, and the nose, inner aprons, and inner quarters are in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. When looking for a 911, this is what you want: great structure, numbers matching, clean and rust free. The 1978-83 911SC (Super Carrera) is one of my favorite 911's of all time, and they are becoming highly collectable in today's market. The factory flared quarter panels look awesome, which accommodate the much needed larger tires. These cars have a beautiful stance and are one of the most aggressive looking sports cars of all time. I have owned 8 of these SC's in the last 10 years, and have enjoyed driving every one of them. If you have never have had the opportunity to drive a 911SC, you will be in for a treat. Every time I get behind the wheel of one of these beautiful machines, I know that I am driving a real sports car, hands down. These cars have good power, but better yet, the way they handle is amazing. Here in the Northwest we are known for very cool summers and mild winters. We do not salt the roads, so we avoid having rust issues like other parts of the country. We have some of the nicest original cars in the country and it shows. This car has had one re-spray in the early 1990’s. It is a beautiful color Casablanca Beige Metallic #463, it has an excellent gloss to it and was done very well as you will see in the photos. There are a few chips that have been touched up, and a couple light scratches, but overall for paint that is over 20 years old, it looks awesome. You can take it to any car show, or field meet, and have the time of your life with it. The body is very clean and straight down the sides, with no rolls or ripples in the door quarter panels. Inside the fenders, and quarter panels, there are no signs of any accidents or repairs. There is some crazing, if the light is just right in the passenger side quarter panel, and it flows into the back of the door. I'm not sure why it did this, but it is there, and you can see it in some of my close up photos. There are your typical rock chips on the hood, mirror, and headlight trim rings. The inner wheel tubs are very clean, exactly what you want to see on a vintage Porsche. The front nose and rear taillight panel are accident free. I show tons of pictures of this Porsche inside and out. It is a very impressive car when it comes to its structure. The gaps in all of the panels are very nice on the car, and the doors, hood, and deck lid shut very nicely. The car shows a little exterior wear, obviously from being 36 years old, but overall it looks excellent. This is obviously a car that you will want to park way out in a parking lot. Very clean 911's are getting hard to find, and the market on these cars is rapidly going up in value right now. I would buy every SC I have had in the past for more then what I sold them for, because these cars are the best of both worlds. When it comes to vintage air cooled Porsche's, these are true drivers. The interior is in great shape for original. The seats are original material. They have a little light wear, but are overall in good shape. They have good padding and feel very comfortable. The stitching is in great shape, with no rips or tears, just aged a little. The dash pad is excellent but has one little tiny crack, on the passenger side toward the inner trim. It has an aftermarket radio in it, which is not working currently. The carpet is excellent but has a little age. It is still nice enough that I would not change it. This is NON-smoker car as well, and is very pleasant inside. The door panels are in nice original shape, and have no rips or tears in them. Overall, the interior for its age and being original equipment is in excellent shape. When it comes to some vintage cars, especially European classics, I prefer nice original interior, even with small flaws. In my opinion it is much better than a bunch of reproduction stuff. All of the glass is in nice shape. The windshield does not have any cracks, and is nice and clear. The window rubber seals are in overall good shape, but have a little age and are a little weather checked, which is to be expected for such a vintage car. This car has Power Windows, which work well. Overall it has very nice original interior. The engine is the original 3.0 to the car ID# 6291754 , and Gear Box is the original 915/63 5spd unit ID#7196841. The engine runs very well, it does not burn any oil and does not blow smoke. Just recently the engine was taken out by a local Porsche shop and resealed. The valves were also adjusted and the oil was changed. It has been upgraded with the Pop off valve, and Hydraulic Cam Chain tensioners, which you can see in the auction photos. The cam tensioners are fed by external oil lines, which is a very important upgrade for these 911SC cars. The engine runs very nicely, and idles superbly. Mechanically, the engine is very sound. It sounds good and has very good power. The engine only has 106K on it, making it a low mileage car. I have a bunch of service records on the car, and you can see them in the photos below. I have the original owner’s manual and cover. The engine runs very well, and has no current issues, does not blow any smoke, or burn oil. The gear box is in good shape. It shifts through the gears very nicely. It does not pop out of gear, everything stays real tight, and it is not sloppy. It had a new clutch put in when the engine was resealed, and it has new axle boots. The clutch feels great: no chatter, very smooth. This is a very dependable vintage Porsche that you can hop into and start right up. It idles nicely, and does not miss. All it needs is a new owner that can service it and enjoy it. This car does have Air Conditioning and is ICE COLD. It does work, it is all hooked up, it cycles on and off like it should, has no strange noises, the clutch feels and sounds good in AC unit. It does blow cold. I can feel the cool coming out of the vents, I can feel the bottom lower AC line and it is cool as well. The brakes are in good shape, 4 wheel disc brakes all the way around. The pads are getting worn, and you might want to repair them in the near future, but no worries if you don't get to them right away. I would say they are at about 70%. The wheels are 16x6 and 16x7, staggered original FUCHS, not reproductions. The tires are in excellent shape, around 90%, they are Toyo Proxes T1S, 205/55/16 front, and 225/50/165 in the rear. Does it need little things here and there mechanically? The answer is yes, it is a Porsche, but nothing in major repairs right now, just general service and such. For the time being, just drive and enjoy it like it was built to do. This is a NO RESERVE, starting bid at $19.79, yes NO RESERVE, top bid gets it. View the pictures and read the auction.
