Vehicle Detail

1973 VW Type 181 Thing: Originally a Texas car that I bought in eastern Idaho. The body is straight, without any bondo (that I could find) and the numbers match. It's been repainted the original pumpkin orange and has a couple of less than perfect areas (can't see them from 2 feet away though). It has a "roll cage", some bigger "mudder" type tires on it, the pan has been coated with line-x (but I never noticed any patches/soft spots), the windshield is cracked but I have a Thing Shop replacement w/new seal, and a new black crush top on frame from The Thing Shop too. The original motor was swapped for a 1600cc single port G code and could use some engine tins as a result. It's got new wheel cylinders, carb rebuilt, plugs/wires/cap/rotor/points, adjusted all the pedals, and some other small stuff. I also have a couple of other OEM dash parts, some other miscellaneous parts (valve cover gaskets etc.), and some laminated binder manuals. The speedometer and odometer don't work but that will likely change when a set of original rims and tires are put back on. It's a solid example of a Type 181... It's probably straight enough to be a show car with a little work to bring it back to stock, really. The gas heater assembly is not present...the original owner removed it. I have the car under cover in storage, so as far as I know it's never seen snow, or even rain for that matter. I have a clean title. Please ask me any questions you have before bidding. I will try to answer them as thoroughly, and quickly as possible. Happy bidding! On Mar-21-15 at 12:24:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 3/21/2015: After many requests, I was able to convince my wife to try and get a few more shots of the vehicle (please keep this in mind as the vehicle is covered and stored i.e. seats removed, battery removed etc. and she had a difficult time getting what was requested but she did her best!)...I have added those pictures to the listing. Also, someone asked if I had a clear title and what the VIN # is so, YES I have a clear title and the VIN # is 1833024986. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. Happy Bidding! On Mar-24-15 at 16:11:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 3/24/2015: It appears that ebay is having a technical difficulty with their Q/A ability, on this listing. So, I wanted to post it for full disclosure. Here is the Q/A dialogue (from this afternoon, I was unaware of being able to post Q/A's until yesterday): Q.Dear snipe-works,I really like this car. A couple questions: How much is the reserve? And is there a top to this? or is it a permanent convertible?- ethbuy1 A.Dear ethbuy1,Thank you! As far as answering the reserve price question...I'm not sure that I can. But, I can say that if it increases by the same amount from the previous two bids it will be over my reserve price. As for the top, I have a brand new Top-on-Frame convertible top, from The Thing Shop, which is included in the sale (Cost of $1,415.00). Here is the link to that exact top: http://www.thethingshop.com/TOP-ON-FRAME/productinfo/181871000/... It is also shown, in the box, on the last picture of the listing. Please feel free to ask any more questions you might have. Happy bidding!- snipe-works
