My 1997 Honda has about 302K miles on the original engine and was running great until the timing belt broke, and I assume, since it has an interference engine, that the engine is ruined. It is definitely NOT RUNNING. My boyfriend had paid a mechanic to change the timing belt a short time before this disaster, and I think either he didn't do it at all or he did it wrong or put a bad belt on. To the best of my knowledge my 1997 Honda CRV does not have an other major issues besides the following: Engine Timing belt The owner prior to me lived in New Hampshire and so there is some rust on the underside, but nothing that has caused any problems the entire time I owned it. shortly after I bought it, there was a hail storm in Austin and my Honda got hail damage to the roof and hood, which I have never repaired. Cosmetic Issues: There is a small area of rust on the hood, about 1" in diameter that has been there since 2009 when I bought it. There are two very minor dents on or near the bumpers that do not interfere with anything; just cosmetic issues. The visors above each window were also damaged in the hailstorm, and are mostly removed. The rear gate/door handle does not work properly (you have to open the window and reach inside to open it). The handle to the hood release has broken off, but it still works. The drawer under the front passenger seat is missing. There is a crack in the windshield, but it has stabilized and is not getting worse; and two rock chips. The cover for the spare is in poor condition. History: I bought this from an acquaintance in Austin in 2009 at about 80K miles and it has been my only vehicle since. Most of the miles on it are rural. Since buying it, I have done maintenance regularly. I have not had any oil leaks or transmission fluid leaks or any other leaks. It has been an extremely reliable car for me all these years. It has not never been smoked in, involved in a flood or hurricane while I have owned it (2009) I have replaced the brakes twice, I believe. In case you've never owned a CRV before, the back seat folds down so that you have cargo space for larger purchase or to carry home medium size furniture from garage sale. I fit a small sofa in the back once! And there is a little folding card table tucked under the back cargo area. The following work fine to the best of my knowledge: A/C heat CD player/ radio all headlights fine tires still are in decent condition. spare, too. The title is a clear blue Texas title.
