Vehicle Detail
I am reluctantly putting this fine motorbike up for auction. It may be a cliche but this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a true Dick Mann built machine. The bike is aptly named by Dick as a "Tririel" as it incorporates a custom Ariel style, chrome moly, hand-built frame, that uses the Triumph 650 Twin motor. The motor itself is a work of art, both inside and out, using all of the tricks learned over 65 plus years of racing to build a fast, smooth, and very durable motor. Those of you with keen eyes will notice the 650 motor has been machined to look like the smaller 500cc motor. A $1,200, English made, electronic ignition, and a new Amal carb, insures this motorbike starts easy (usually first kick) and runs better than any vintage twin you have ever thrown a leg over. I run 110 octane leaded Sunoco fuel. Dick only built two Triumph 650s as he felt he was unable to charge enough for them to compensate him for his time and effort. The 2-into-1 exhaust is hand-made and a thing of beauty. Notice the signature "Remade in Nevada" frame build, the custom billet frame mounts, and the center mass placement of the engine. The design of the frame also allow for 10" of clearance under the custom skid plate. This machine handles like no other vintage off-road bike you have ever ridden and turns extremely well and transitions side to side like a much smaller machine. Forks are polished Betor units. The rear shocks are made in England. The tank, fenders, and fender mounts are custom made aluminum. Every single piece of this bike was designed and built with purpose. The headlight and taillight are not operational but were added so that this machine could run in vintage ISDT competitions. However, some simple wiring and a gel cell battery could easily make it so. Dick is currently 81 years old and builds only a small handful of bikes a year for lucky riders and racers. There is a 2-3 year waiting list. As this is a one of a kind, custom built, off-road, competition only machine, it does not have a title. "Clear" was marked as the field is required by eBay. It will come with a bill of sale from me personally. I have sold over 100 vintage motorbikes on eBay Motors with excellent feedback, so bid and buy with confidence. No PayPal Accepted. Cashier's check in advance or cash upon deliver. If you are paying by check, sufficient time will be allowed for your check to clear my bank. I will work with the shipper of your choice and I will store the bike for up to 30 days, with no charge, if needed. provided the bike is paid in full. Thank you for your interest and feel free to call or text me at (801) 520-8817 with any questions.
