1966 CORVAIR - YENKO STINGER Stage 1 In 1965 Car builder,race car driver and Chevy Dealer Don Yenko made a deal with Chevrolet for 100 COPO Corvairs. After he gained access to GM's Parts bins he sent the cars to his shop for Modifications. Thus the Yenko Stinger was born!! The Stingers dominated D Production in SCCA Racing auto crossing and City Streets across the country. This car : YS028, was originally owned by Rolly Aiken crew chief for Jerry Thompson who was D production SCCA National Champ in 67. The car Retains its original Stinger Sail panels,Fiberglass engine cover,and Trans axle. It was restored mechanically by Mark Wright and Cosmetically by JD restorations. Included in the sale are Protecto plate,books, records, some invoices from Yenko Chevrolet correspondence from Don Yenko all restoration pictures and a copy of the Yenko Registry. according to records the car was retubbed at some point during its restoration.
