Vehicle Detail

dimidimi63 store This Volvo V70 T5-S was purchased for my wife to drive in and out of San Francisco and other local errands as a 2nd car. Low original documented miles with every record since new 115,100 as of today, might change slightly. The car was very special when new, it not only has the manual gearbox, but also has the R seats with the nicer leather, the winter package with heated seats and extra strong defrost, the car's brakes were designed and apparently made by Brembo, and the suspension done by Ohlins.   It's amazing how well this car handles.  I can easily out pace many sports cars in the turns. Since buying it from the original owner 2 years ago we have moved right next to the city now, she takes the bus or ferry instead. We purchased it locally from the original owner, who was a very kind and caring older fellow. He kept everything on the car mechanically perfect, and the records show it since day one that it was always given every bit of care. When something would need maintenance it would be performed and with Volvo parts and Volvo master service techs. The stick shift transmission is very rare on the V70 wagon and truly makes this a really fun car to drive, a true sleeper with 276 hp on tap. The Front Wheel drive is sweet because there is no worry about the problematic volvo all wheel drive systems, and it gets better gas mileage. The car is not cosmetically perfect, it has some dings and other parking lot scratches in a couple little spots that have been touched up over the years. The interior has nice headliner, nice crack free dash, some minor wear on seats but nothing major, still ultra comfortable with heat too.... no rips or major stains. Carpet has a few stains, could maybe use some new mats I guess that's about it. It is an all original car, except for the rear bumper which was replaced with a new one because the original owner backed up from a parking spot and tapped into a cart with it, puncturing the plastic shell. Other than that event the car is accident free, rust free, totally straight, original paint and has all original body parts.   All gaps are perfect. There are no leaks, no whistles (except the awesome turbo spooling sound) The car has integrated child booster seats on each side in the rear which has been really nice for our daughter (and us).   Rear seat splits and folds totally flat so you can lay in the back or fit tons of cargo.    The car has an alarm system with remote. The car has a screen that pops up out of the dash with remote control for Navigation system. It has the Mark Levinson sound system with subwoofer and it sounds awesome.  Sunroof/Moonroof The original owner also installed for over $2000 complete front and rear parking sensors and alarm, which can be switch on or off, and also in rear only mode, or both.  He did this after damaging his rear bumper plastic. Traction Control DCSC and 4 wheel ABS Brembo brakes Suspension designed by Ohlins who are masterminds...google it Strut top brace in engine bay, large sway bars (all original from Volvo) Car has low miles, just went past 115k.    110k service completely done which included: timing belt  alternator @100k serpentine belt tensioner idle pulley gear oil  motor oil/fiter fuel filter air filter cabin filter All previous work we have records for except if oil change was done at home.    Oil has been changed every 3500-4500 miles since new. Tires were just replaced last month and we drove the car down to San Diego, all around for a week in So.Cal and back...total of 1500 miles in a week, without a hiccup. The car has original key with remote, but also we bought two extra chipped keys last year at the dealer for $300 Includes original manuals.     Ok here are some more history records: (all of these are from actual receipts from Putnam Volvo in Burlingame, CA 07/01 7500 mile service 9/01 11,500 mile service 12/01 Alarm serviced, 15,000 mile complete vehicle service 5/02 Lock handle repaired 1/02 30,000 miles service performed, brakes done 1/03 full dealer annual inspection and service at 40k miles 5/03 45k mile Volvo full service 06/03 Rear window was broken into, replaced with insurance so this might be on carfax 08/03 60,000 mile service at 58k miles 08/03 Lock repaired, oil return tube drip found, replaced gasket, engine mount replaced, power steering flushed 01/04 Fuel Injection system flushed, right rear door lock repaired, 67,500 mile service 05/04 75,000 mile service, body electrical repair for marker lights, a/c service, fuel system flushed 10/04 Electrical wire loose, repaired under warranty 05/05 Tires replaced 82k miles, 4 wheel alignment performed 05/05 22k major service performed, 7,500k service checks done 08/06 full service, throttle software update, ECM update 10/07 brakes, full service 86k miles 10/07 Battery connection 06/08 Alarm repaired 08/08 turn signal repaired 9/08 Complete clutch replacement at 87,800 miles including new flywheel 05/09 service 06/10 90k full service includes flush brakes, cabin filter, parking brake, fuel lines, brake lines, pcv system service, air filter, spark plugs 06/10 Fuel pump leak, replaced with new unit and new flange screws... replaced under recall  04/11 4 wheel alignment, upper front spring perches replaced, bushings replaced, 90k miles 04/11 A/C Recharged 90,920 miles 08/11 91k service 3/12 Battery drain problem repaired, found to be trunk open switch 08/12 92k full dealer service, coolant flush 04/13 95k service The car's current known issues are: 1. sometimes the copy keys we got from volvo don't turn the ignition, so you have to pull it out, flip it over, put it back in and it turns 2. occasionally the DTSC traction control light says service, just press the switch and it goes away.   Apparently this is typical issue on V70 of this year, never bothered us.  The ECM has no logged faults, it is just a light error from the DTSC box.  You can get a replacement box for $100 on ebay.   Could probably use some new floor mats soon to update the look of the interior, slight tear of shifter boot leather and knob leather are the only issues inside the car we notice. Everything seems to work in the car. The car will be smog checked for any California buyers.  It has never had any problems passing previously. We hope this nice car will be a real treat for someone hunting for a good T5!    Please if you intend to bid on this car, realize that you are doing so as a commitment to buy and that you have the cash funds available at the time you make your bid. Please, if you do not fully intend to purchase the car, do not bid.    We welcome your inspection or any inspector you want to hire to come see it. Please note that we have very positive ebay feedback as sellers and buyers since 1999! I am not a Volvo super expert, but I have tried to the best of my ability to describe this car completely and disclose any little nit picky issues we have noticed.  The car is from 2001, so it has some cosmetic wear, but we have not tried to polish out these little blemishes.   The car as you see it, is how it drives around every day of its life, has not been detailed for these photos. thank you
