Beautiful 1981 Honda CX500 Custom! We’ve gone through this bike (details below) and all it needs is a new owner to love it, care for it, and ride it. The bike includes a Spit Fire windshield and we've included pictures with it on and off the bike. It's a quick install/remove type that only takes 30 seconds to remove or install. We've also included a couple of pictures showing the bike when we had it stripped down for inspection and servicing. The bike runs very well, is solid, and road ready. Mechanicals: The bike is very complete and appears to be all original including the tool kit with the exception of the handlebars. Wear items such as the front brake pads and tires are in very good condition. We performed the following service items:Complete carburetor rebuildSynchronize carburetorsNew spark plugsReplaced both fork seals and wipersForks filled with high quality Lucas fork fluidRebuilt fuel petcockOil and filter changeCoolant changeReplaced petcock vacuum and carburetor fuel linesReplaced left cooling pipe o-ring with the upgraded Honda part (the original o-ring design on the CX-500 had a tendency to leak) Cosmetics: The paint is all factory original and is in very nice shape, especially considering the bike's age. There are a couple of small paint chips on the tank, and one chip that has a pencil tip sized ding (see pictures). The chrome is in good shape as is the exhaust. The previous owner installed aftermarket handle bars (please see pictures) that look pretty nice on the bike. The bike is clean and something anyone would be proud to ride and show to friends. When it comes to vintage and classic bikes we always say "Ride it don’t hide it!” and this one is ready to be enjoyed. Please note that while the bike is in excellent shape it is a 30+ year old bike that still has a lot of 30+ year old parts. That is to say it’s much like owning a vintage car. It is not new and may have things that need attention over time. However, if it’s taken care of this motorcycle should provide years of enjoyment.
